On Nov 20 2017 My VW Passat kicked out of gear and stranded my wife in an intersection in Barrie. (The vehicle has only 120,400 km on it) I had it towed to Barrie VW and told them not to drive it, just to bring it into the shop and inspect it. It took 2 days for them to even look at it but when they did I was told that they test drove it around town and it doesn't move any more and that it needs a new transmission costing $8,500.00 plus tax. I had it towed to Eurohaus Auto in Alliston, they inspected it and fixed the issue for only $200.00. It was a problem with the CV shaft that had slipped out of the transmission. Eurohaus had great friendly staff and excellent communication with myself, I highly recommend bringing your VW to Eurohaus NOT Barrie VW! They tried to rip me off for a new transmission and thousands of dollars. From now on I will only be bringing my Passat to Eurohaus for service and repairs.
