Esso

Today in Edmonton it was raining/windy and my car was low on fuel while on my way home. Driving by the Esso and Shell Gas stations on 149 Street and 95 Ave I noticed the price at Esso was 10 cents cheaper than the Shell station across the street, so I decided goto Esso to fuel. I drive up to the first pump, park, bundled up and exit my car to fuel up. I insert the pump, press the regular fuel, nothing happens. I look at the pump and I don't see any signs on the digital screen, I look at the pump for pre pay signs, don't see signs, I remove pump and repeat again, nothing. By this point I am wet by the rain and wind. So I decided to try a different pump, when I put the nozzle back on the pump station I notice a piece of paper taped on to the top of the pump station that says "Pre-Pay Only." The paper sign is rain washed and poorly visible, the ink on the paper is running and overall not professional. The signed looked like someone at home printed a sign on paint and taped it on the pump station. So I decide to go to the next pump that is NOT pre-pay. I pull up to the next pump, exit vehicle and start again. I take nozzle out, insert pump in car, select fuel and wait for fuel to start. The screen says "please reinsert nozzle", so I follow instructions, I put nozzle back pump station, take nozzle out of pump station, put nozzle in car, select fuel, and again "please reinsert nozzle." While I am doing this I look inside the Esso station at the cashier, the person walks from making coffee to cash register and presses a button by the till and walks back to coffee machine. I try this process again, screen says the same message, cashier does same thing. Now by this time I am wet by rain/wind and getting frustrated at trying to get fuel. So I decided to not get fuel here and take my business elsewhere. I have never had so much trouble trying to get fuel before at this Esso station, especially when its raining/windy which made it even worse. I had a bad experience here today, I hope this doesn't happen again or to anyone else. TL;DR The first pump station was pooly labeled for pre pay only, the second pump station kept giving gave me error messages when trying to fuel up/cashier did try and help going back to coffee machine. Poor Customer Service Side Note. The car wash is great when its not busy.

Best car wash in the city. They charge only a loonie at a time but have only 4 bays. No Tim Hortons coffee at this location if you're looking for it. The gas is like any other Esso.

This place is usually busy and the wand car wash is good but expect to wait.

Love their loony wash. I can usually do a quick job on my car for $2 and be on my way.
