I went to Empire the other day for a little lunch. It is a bright airy space with fun artwork throughout the space. The staff was friendly and kind offered personal recommendations when asked what they would suggest. The menu has a good selection of savoury and sweet crepes offered in both a gluten free and gluten full varieties haha. They also had a basic selection of beverages including water sparkling & flat as well as karma sparkling beverages and drip coffees. The crepes pictured are La Traditionnel made with ham, Piggy in the garden made on a gluten free crepe with chicken and Le Sucre made on a gluten free crepe with butter and sugar all were very nice! I really enjoyed the le sucre crepe it was a nice balance of butter and sugar it reminded me of Norwegian lefse and as someone who doesn't generally chose gluten free foods it tasted as good as a regular gluten crepe in my opinion! I would definitely go back again. Also of note is how kind and generous this business was during the McDougall Creek, Clifton and McKinley fires by offering a place to sit down, charge phones, use the restroom and have some food for those who were forced to leave there homes with little or no notice. It's nice to see local businesses rally around the community and show their support in whatever way they can. Thank you Empire
The silent films theme of the place creates a fun atmosphere, and their caramel crepe is so amazing it made me like crepes! Their savoury crepes are also good, and they sell some cool products made by local artisans! Staff are friendly and welcomingFood: 5/5
What a cute little cafe. The Crepe were very yummy. We got one sweet and one savoury and both were great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The vibe was very positive and I will definitely going back. Their coffee was great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that when I asked for a refill for my coffee they charged me again. It’s not a big deal but almost every breakfast of coffee place I know will refill your drip coffee for free. Other than that a perfect place to try.
Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and funny. Cute atmosphere for photos, coffee, friends, and of course crepes. Great addition to Kelowna's food scene, nice to see a place that focuses on what they do very well.Food: 5/5
This place was lovely with great food! The only thing I would change is the disposable plates and cutlery. Even though it is composted it diminishes the experience. Some nice plates and cutlery would elevate the experience so much. The touch of the disposable plates and cutlery doesn’t compliment the food. Other than that this place is divine!
I recently had the pleasure of savoring a crepe from Empire crepe, and it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. The crepe was a culinary masterpiece, with a perfectly thin and slightly crispy exterior that encased a delectable blend of flavors. The sweet and savory combination was outstanding. Fresh strawberries provided a burst of natural sweetness, and the velvety Nutella added a rich, chocolatey indulgence. The crepe was expertly folded and presented with a dusting of powdered sugar, making it not only a treat for the palate but also a feast for the eyes. What truly impressed me was the balance of textures and flavors in each bite. It was a heavenly combination that left me craving for more. If you're a crepe enthusiast, this place is an absolute must-visit!
First time there today. The crepes were excellent - one savoury and one sweet. Coffee was also very good. Art deco look to the internal decor and Empire State graphic on the wall with black and white movie projection - cool. Broke two wooden forks but owner assures me he is improving the cutlery. Probably the best crepe cafe in Kelowna.
Absolutely lovely cafe with incredible sweet and savory crepes! The inside is nicely decorated, the washrooms are clean, the food is all high quality, and the staff is friendly. Definitely worth going to for a good breakfast or brunch.
The cafe is pleasantly decorated and staff are friendly. I easily found a free 2 hour parking spot out front. The food was tasty, I particularly enjoyed the carrot and chickpea salad. Maybe I will have to go back and try the pastries. They looked inviting.
!!!GLUTEN FREE CREPES!!! My partner and I went here for brunch. We were too excited and each got a savoury crepe and a sweet crepe! 10/10 I could barely tell it was gluten free! I'm so happy there's a crepe place with options for me! The hot chocolate is incredible as well! I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu!
