My mother has been in Embassy West Senior Living for the last 2+ years and I am very happy with her care. My mother stayed at another care facility and she was very unhappy and we were very concerned. At Embassy West, ALL staff including the kitchen, management, nurses, PSW's are simply amazing and give personalized attention and care and the facility is very clean. If there are any changing circumstances or issues to be looked at, they look into it in a very timely fashion, rectify it and communicate very effectively. I would recommend Embassy West to anyone who is looking for great quality care.
My Mother has been living at Embassy West now for over 2 years and it is her second stay. The staff is always compassionate and caring, and the food is excellent. At this point in her life, my mother needs a lot of assistance to do regular activities, and the staff looks after her wonderfully. It is a huge relief to know that she is in safe, capable hands. I would highly recommend Embassy West Senior Living!
My Mum was there from March 2017 until March 2018, when she passed away. I couldn't have asked for a better place for her to be for her last year. The staff are so caring and treat their residents as almost family. Any questions or concerns I had were dealt with swiftly and professionally. The chef there prepares a variety of good homemade dishes. There is always some sort of activity going on throughout each day. There is even an on-site physiotherapy company which Mum had personal contact with and were a great help to her post-stroke. Don't judge a book by its cover. Although, for those of us who grew up in Ottawa, it still has the appearance of the Embassy West Hotel, in the end, what is most important is to find somewhere for your loved one where you can go to sleep at night knowing that there is caring watchful eye being kept on them. It doesn't matter if there aren't fancy decorations. It matters that your loved one is being cared for with love and compassion.
The Embassy West is a wondrous residence ! We were taken on a tour of the residence by Anuj, very personable manager, well-informed and in tune to his staff and resident. They were always greeted by name and happy to help their residents. Seems like a small detail but it tells you a lot. There was a crossword game in the common room at our visit, well-attended and they were all engaged and having fun. They have a lovely chapel and dining room, big theatre room, a pool ! and a physiotherapy office on site. They offer independent living and assisted living. There is a waiting list, not too long and unfortunately my father was not eligible as he now requires long-term care. But my best friend and I were very impressed and would not hesitate in the future to get on the list ! Highly recommend this quiet classy residence !
My mom happened to stay here for a short-term stay after she broke her hip. We were recommended here from Ottawa Civic. She did not like being away from home, but she loved how warm it was here and how they did everything they could to make her feel comfortable and safe and happy. Well, here we are two years later and Dad needs a permanent home. The first and only place we came was here at Embassy West. The staff was still the same and the feel was warmer than ever. Everyone remembered my whole family the second we walked in and that was a great feeling. The care, love and happiness from the staff and residents make this the best choice of home for both the resident and the family visiting.
We are very grateful to everyone at Embassy West Senior Living! Whatever we need, whenever we need it, they are always there for us. The team at Embassy West Senior Living are understanding, supportive and work with us in every way. I can speak not just as a daughter, but as a caregiving professional working with seniors for 30 years. Upon the arrival of our Mother on October 17, 2013, a PSW patient support, worker an Embassy staff member and a CCAC home care person were all involved. One of the staff who accompanied her to her room, which I had set up in advance, marvelled at her paintings and said she'd like to spend time with Mum in the morning to see more and learn more about ‘Allison the artist’. All staff are gentle and kind. In light of the circumstances regarding our Mother’s health, we could not have been more at peace, knowing she was in such good hands. The resident’s rooms are cozy, the public spaces are inviting and the décor is tasteful and elegant. My 92 year old father moved to Embassy West in early 2015 after my Mother, his wife of 70 years, passed away. The entire staff have taken such fantastic care of Dad during this transitional phase. I live overseas in Australia so communication is key for me. Wendy, Anuj and all the team are always very quick to respond to my emails. I came to Embassy West Senior Living in 2014. My first encounter in the building was picking the wrong chair in the lobby to sit in before my interview. A lovely resident who was very sharp quickly told me that was her chair, you sit in another chair. Today is my five year anniversary as a member of the EWSL team. I have learned many things from so many people over the last five years. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with a truly remarkable team . I have had the pleasure of hearing many great stories from our residents who served our country as Veterans and because of them, my children get to live an amazing life in a great country. I go to work everyday with the motto experience is a great teacher and I have a front row seat !
Embassy West is an amazing place for seniors. My grandma lives there and she is receiving an excellent care all nurses and staff are amazing not only to residents but for family members and visitors. I would highly recommend Embassy West to all seniors who requires medical care.
