From the first time I walked into City View Retirement Community I felt comfortable. The staff immediately greeted me and a few minutes later I was given a personalized tour of the facility. The facility is well maintained, clean, welcoming and warm. The staff are caring and empathetic. The rooms are spacious with plenty of natural light. The amenities are many and the property even has an underground parking. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and clean retirement community, especially one that prioritizes its people.
My mother has been a resident at City View for a few months now. She absolutely loves it there, the staff are fantastic and very attentive to her needs. Tonight they are having a masquerade ball and the dining room was set up beautifully. They had staff dressed up and a magic show prior to the dinner for residents to enjoy. It is very comforting to know my mom is so well taken care of. Alain, the marking manager, was wonderful to deal with and made the process of moving my mom in a very peaceful event.
City View is a fantastic retirement home. It is an excellent building and offers independent living with great value. Lots of activities for residents, good food, excellent friendly staff and a nice bar and chapel. Plenty of nursing care available. Rooms are large and bright, very inviting. Excellent value for money.
My profession is highly related to Senior Retirement Communities so every week I visit several sites. Today, I take the time to make a review since after many years, my best "relation", a Lady leaving at City View since Day 1, is always delighted about the place, its staff and activities. Without hesitation, I refer City View to People looking for a place yo live as well as for People looking for a place to work. Great Management #A1
We walked in and there was live music in the lobby, great energy !! Beautiful Retirement Home ! It was built recently, and the building looks extremely new, elegant and secure. They offer a wide variety of services, rooms and all levels of care. Would highly recommend since they also have a Memory Care Unit. :
City View is a wonderful home. Inside and out the property is well maintained with great amenities. The caring and friendly staff are always helpful and courteous. The rooms are bright and spacious. City View offers great value for money.
Her smile is contagious… last Saturday my mom moved into her beautiful suite at City View Retirement Residence. It started with two weeks of respite earlier this summer where she experienced tender care and attention. The sense of relief that us children have now that she will always have friends around her, delicious meals being made for her & the removal of house work brings joy to us and all her family & friends. Special thanks to all the staff for making my mom’s transition very welcoming. A big thank you to Paul, the activities director, and Hylee & Jocelyn from the kitchen who create incredible meal experiences. Lastly, thank you to the great staff including Honey, Nancy, Riya, Souad and Sheila for making my mom feel so comfortable in her new home. — My mother needed respite care, a short stay at a retirement home and City View Retirement location was our first choice. It’s in the neighbourhood and part of the Nepean- Ottawa community where she lives. Catherine and Carolle worked with my family to transition her from the hospital to respite care and hopefully permanent residency. A big thank you to all the staff including the nursing team Mary but also the front office of Ryia and Suad who welcomed my mother and our family during our visits. One of my mother’s favourite things is anticipating what creative meal Chef Steve would create. It’s always a thrill for her and she enjoys every meal. A very big thank you to everyone at City View as well as Paul the Activities Coordinator!
Our mother moved into Cityview in late 2019 with declining cognition and moved out in September 2022 to another home. Our family, as a whole, comes to retirement living with collective experience in the administration of retirement homes, nursing, vascular dementia as well as delivering PSW training. If one were looking for a retirement home in the Cityview area and they did not have any cognitive decline, CV would be a fair enough choice. The rooms are quite bright and certainly spacious and the housekeeping staff have always been friendly and maintain the building well. The front desk staff, some of the PSW’s over the years and housekeeping staff are always friendly and in my opinion, the strongest asset to CV. I’ve heard residents remark on how the food was just ok and having fed my mother on many occasions, I might agree. As my mother transitioned to the “memory care” unit, we began to experience many challenges with the management. Our frustrations with the DOC at the time, as well as one of the co-owners mounted. I’m not convinced the DOC had much experience with care plans which lead to otherwise unnecessary emails and communications back and forth. To be clear, that DOC is no longer there. Many of our concerns were validated by some of the PSW’s all of whom have left to pursue work elsewhere. The staff turn over was notable. I won’t itemize our dissatisfaction but I personally would not recommend Cityview to anyone whose loved one has to be admitted into the “memory care” unit. While at Cityview, my mother would require PRN’s many times a week/day and at present she hasn’t had one in months at her new facility. She is always clean both both her brief and clothing ,never managed to accidentally lock herself in her room, has gained weight which she very much needed to do, has a bib when she eats to keep herself clean, supplied with adaptive eating dishes/cutlery to enjoy her meals and I could continue. At the time of my Mom’s admission into Cityview the staff were incredible. They managed COVID very well and communication with CV was timely and consistent. Those staff: manager, entertainment director, director of care, etc. have all since left. I respectfully offer that if you choose the memory care unit at CV for your loved one, I would suggest diligence with their monthly bill to understand what you are paying for and to be very involved in their personal care plan.
Absolutely beautiful retirement building with really loving and caring staff. Through the Covid Pandemic, the managers and staff worked hard to keep the residents safe, tended to the family needs, and just generally did a wonderful job. Even before the pandemic, this was truly a lovely home. It is a large building with over 185 rooms, yet they managed to keep Covid out of this building. Our hats go off to City View staff!! Thanks so much!! new pic added: was just there to visit and the staff had their own pumpkin competition. Hilarious! Such a fun place to work. Way to go City View!
Excellent care foe my mother who is currently staying at this location, not too far from her grand children. Thank you Catherine for the accommodation and courtesy yoi have shown our family. 10/10 *
