DENIED HEALTH CARE FOR MONEY I have an infant that has some trouble gaining weight so I was a little nervous. The initial check up went well but the receptionist and doctor insisted I get an audiology appointment as well as come back for a weight check. The only date they had available for the audiologist was on a Jewish holiday which we keep but we are walking distance so we agreed to it since they said the next available date was 6 weeks away. On the day of the appointment, my husband and I were not feeling great and our baby had a slight cough. Our parents who we had been with 2 days earlier tested positive for Covid so we aired on the side of caution and stayed home. At the next visit a week later, the clinic charged us $75 for a missed visit even though we explained that we were sick and Quebec government protocol is to stay home if you’re not well. Considering we were exposed to Covid, it didn’t even occur to us to present ourselves at a children’s clinic and possibly infect other patients and a doctor. We figured they would be appreciative. When I said I wanted to speak to a manager about the charge, the receptionist referred me to an email address and a month later, someone has yet to respond. Furthermore when I said I did not want to pay until I spoke to someone, the receptionist refused to book another appointment for my child despite the doctor having requested a pediatrician’s consult for weight gain. So basically, this clinic holds your children’s health care hostage for money. We have moved to another doctor and I’m reporting them to RAMQ for unethical billing.
First off I just want to say that the doctors are amazing and I am so grateful for all the work that they do. That said, I have been trying for the past few days to get an appointment for my 7 month d daughter calling at 8am and never seem to get through. Last time I went a father was desperately trying to get an appointment for his child IN PERSON because he couldn't get a hold of anyone over the phone and the receptionist turned him back and told him to call back the next day at 8 A.M, but of course, as many have stated in the reviews, it's impossible to get a hold of anyone. I really hope this changes but judging from the replies to the reviews pointing out this issue, I'm likely to get a copy/paste response at best.
I think we were there for a total of 10 minutes from start to finish. We saw Dr Steinmetz. He was super friendly and very efficient and so was his assistant. Left with a prescription for X-ray. A few hours later we had a call back from the clinic to tell us everything was fine. Flawless visit.
What a nightmare. This is a horrible clinic. Unable to reach anyone to book an appointment with our kids' GP. Website is down and so are phone lines. Very frustrating. Website booking is "down for maintenance" and phone line says only to "call back tomorrow". As of August 26, 2022, we have been trying for over a week now. When will the website and phone lines be fixed? Do we have to show up in person? What is going on? And the generic response from the clinic below is just more infuriating and insulting.
I recently went for my son's appointment and I was happy that the waiting period is not that long anymore. I've been in this clinic since my kids birth and I am happy and contented with the service. The place is clean, friendly staff, kind doctors. Thank you for service.
This clinic is ridiculous! I have been trying to book an appointment for three days now; the first time Sun 1,Dec they told me to call at 8 am the following day and so I called them the next morning, and they told me they didn't have an appointment. So what kind of service is this?! Why would you lie and waste our time?! I tried again today, I called at exactly 8 am, but after waiting for 10-15 minutes for someone to answer, they just hung up on me! This clinic was excellent before, and now if I can give a negative star rate, I would.
Facilities are nicely configured, I like the fact that each doctor have their assigned waiting areas so that all the patients are not bunched up together. However you will need to come at least 15 mins before your appointment time because its quiet a maze to get there, especially for the first time. Dr.Baliesh is thorough and make sure to amswer every questiom that we have. So far we never waited more than 15-20mins past our appointment time, which to me is fine as I had experiences 30-45mins+ wait time in other clinics. There is some wait time for a receptionist to answer whenever I call to schedule an appointment, but its pretty much the norm in every clinic. All the receptionist I spoke with over the phone or in person have been pleasant, courteous and straightforward.
having your little one sick, can be stressful- especially when it’s your first child and you don’t know what to do. tiny tots has been such a blessing , from making an appointment and getting appointment on the same day. amazing reception, nurse, and doctor. thank you so much.
In reviewing this clinic, I only wish that a zero-star rating was possible. The staff are rude, unhelpful and totally lazy. The doctors themselves are lovely and clearly care deeply about their patients, but unfortunately, the receptionists and staff working at the desk are the individuals that one has to interact with. They are the first people one sees when entering the clinic and their work-ethic and behaviour sadly give the entire clinic a bad name. The receptionists are terse, disrespectful, unhelpful, apathetic and utterly indifferent to the clinic’s patients and their parents. I can tell you with complete honesty that I would not frequent the Tiny Tots Clinic at Decarie Square, even if they were the last pediatric clinic left on Earth.
Worst clinic ever. Both my kids have sever ADHD, and after moving to another city, we've asked Elna to transfer their info to their new psychiatrist son he would accept to treat them. After 3 months, several emails/phone calls, I am still waiting. After asking them to remove my children from their list so they could get a new pediatrician near their new home, they told me to ask RAMQ, when our clinic did it for my husband and I. Let me tell you: Elna doesn't care about you children's health.
