Long-standing favorite for hearty meal of "comfort food" and great service. Servers have always been attentive, friendly, and helpful in our experience. Julissa really gave us smiles today with her can-do attitude, even when busy during the lunch rush. My husband orders the two-enchilada dinner with rice and beans. I order the grilled cheese it comes with American cheese and fries. Chips are fresh and salsas are always yummy. Portions are really generous, served on large oval plates. We appreciate that they charge a lower rate if you pay cash, since I'm sure those processing fees for credit cards add up for a small local business. Doing what they can to keep prices fair and reasonable for everyone!
I got the puente enchiladas and they were really good. My friend got steak and it was ok. We also got ceviche and guacamole for the appetizers and they were good. Salsas were ok and we got two palomas which were delicious. Our waitresses was really polite and friendly and we liked the decor. It was not busy when we went which is a plus for us.
I had the Steak and grilled vegetables quesadillas plate with rice and beans for $20 including tip. no drinks Server was quick and food was served fast near closing time 8:00pm It's really just steak fajitas with cheese sandwiched between one large folded flour tortilla minus a fajitas hot plate. Grilled onions and green/red peppers and strips or chunks of steak = fajitas. Nothing special about the steak. Wish the beans were not refried and steak better seasoned. They do serve corn chips and salsa while you wait but the salsa is not pico de gallo. The warm salsa was like tomato paste - no flavor. I feel they are cutting corners at this place. I wouldn't come back.
I'd been to this restaurant multiple times. Everytime I get half stale chips and flat soda. Perhaps they need to upgrade their machines. The margaritas, rice and beans are good, but other than that the food is O.K for the price you pay. The chimangas don't have the red sausage and cheese that goes on top which was disappointing. The cheese enchiladas are good, and the carne asada was not bad. You get a red spicy salsa and a non spicy. The none spicy taste like tomato sauce. Would probably not come back or recommend unless they make a drastic change.
My husband and I come here fairly frequently. The food is really solid and consistent. The free chips come with two sauces, one is somewhat adjacent to tomato soup but I am obsessed with it! The meat for the entrees is very lean and tender. Staff are attentive to food allergies. We also rarely have to wait since they have so many tables, so it’s a great option when other nearby restaurants have 60-90 minute waits.
What a wonderful experience!! I went in the afternoon around 2p.m. We started out with the chips and salsa the chips were fresh and warm the salsas were mild and spicy. I preferred the mild one. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and it was perfectly made!! I had the chimichanga dinner and it was delicious!! It was made exactly the way I asked for it to be. It had a little bit of a kick to it but that was what the guacamole and sour cream were for. The rice and beans were excellent as well. I was completely stuffed and had plenty left over to take home for another meal. I will definitely be going back sooner than later!!
10/10 for Mexican food in St. Charles!! Such a cozy happy atmosphere with fantastic homemade food and great drinks!! Our server Jalissa was so upbeat and good vibes!! Also whenever we go for lunch the server is fantastic and alway remembers us! We are so glad that this wonderful restaurant is in our hometown! The chips/salsa/guacamole soooo good!! Longy tacos are one of our favorites!!!
