For the love of Mexico and Mexican food, I come. When you are ready to step into Mexico, come here. The decor, original pieces. The waitress even dress authentic she and I were wearing the same style top I got from Cancun earlier. Got a chance to use a little bit of my broken Spanish when requesting an item not in the menu . Mexican music was playing adding to the flavor, hence the name, "El Mariachi" means the Musician. Since we are transported visually, and authentically back , now it's time "to wait one Mexican minute" as they say in the Market place. And wait I did. 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes I waited until I begin to feel uncomfortable. After all they only had 1 waitress serving the whole place! But then the food came and forgiveness was instant. It was delicious, original spicy , perfect dishes. Loved it. If you love Authentic taste all selections are mouth watering . Prices reasonable, but not cheap! Also if you don't pay in cash they charge extra! I give them 5***** Stars! Vegetarian options: The whole meal if you leave out the meat! Parking: One side of the building offers parking only
El Mariachi is a great place to enjoy some authentic Mexican food. The restaurant setting is nice and cozy for a couple to enjoy the night. Monchy was my family server and she was very polite to us. The food came out super quick and it was nice and warm. I even loved the presentation of the food. Monchy made some very good margaritas, I had to have two . I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be visiting this restaurant a lot. Check out the pics. They say it al.
Stopped in yesterday, and purchase for steak tacos reading all the great reviews. First, $21 for four steak tacos, way overpriced, I said to myself these must be some good tacos, eat one and threw three in the garbage. The first and last time I would ever go there for food, it was terrible for the price you paid, and if there was a way to give negative 5 stars I would!!! One more time Horrible food..just sayin!
I spent $40 for 7 greasy overcooked tacos. I was charged an extra 3.7% cause I used my card. I ordered over the phone. They forgot my lemonade. The girl made a big deal about me paying $5 for the lemonade before she made it. I will find another restaurant after all these years food and service went down
Came there for a dinner we order two steak burrito diner and two margaritas! For $80 dollars!!!!When wanted to order a few more the waitress stated they were out of the margarita how this is a Mexican restaurant at 5pm make some more. She was too busy on her phone and.gossiping to make drinks. This place is not worth the price for the quality of food you’re given along with poor service!
This place is a hole in a wall and charges prices like your downtown. $80 for tacos and a margarita for two this is ridiculous and the food is fair! I would not recommend this place go elsewhere to eat & drink more for a cheaper price
For a steak burrito to be $19 is ridiculous. I was really hungry and thought it would be very good for that jacked up price. When I got home and took my first bite it was very salty and overcooked. For a first time customer, it'll be my last time going there.
Usually you'll get free chips and salsa, not here. Your first portion is TINY and your second portion you'll need to pay. We ordered guacamole and queso, did not come with chips. I was confused, because we were only served like 5 chios to begin with. Then I ordered chicken fajitas. Usually it's a big portion. Nooo. I got the food and was like, where's the rest. When I went to pay... I was shocked to find out that my food was over 26.99 for my tiny little kid like portion. Was it bad bc I was in IL and I'm use to IN portions and prices? Anyway, it was a Saturday night, one waitress. I was curious, but bc it's so high, no one comes in. Wish I new that before hand.
Considering the cost of the food, you would expect a more upscale place or a least more food for your money, especially in these times. The dinning area is fairly outdated and eating booths are somewhat small, however this doesn’t stop them from charging roughly $20 for 4 tacos. A slice of cheese cake is almost $7 and Taco dinners at hitting at roughly $16. If the portions of food, or even the dinning experience were worth it, I wouldn’t really mind the price point, but unfortunately they aren’t. Your better off eating from a mom & pop taco spot than going to El Mariachi’s in Calumet City on Torrence.
I loveeeeeeeeeeeee it here I’ve been coming here for years! Same great service same delicious tacos!! Always bring my food out HOT and Quick! And did I mention soooooo good!! Keep up the great work guys!
