Edo Japan - Southgate Centre

I just moved into my new home and I decided to try out Edo Japan. It was my first time trying them. I ordered a beef and shrimp bowl over white rice with farm veggies broccoli, cabbage, carrots and 2 spring rolls. It was absolutely delicious! There was a note on the front of the delivery package from Edo Japan provided a phone number to contact the store, should there be an issue. I had absolutely zero issues. Food was all good and fresh. I definitely recommend them!

We ordered from Edo, cautiously optimistic considering the reviews were either very positive or very negative. We got the chicken teriyaki bento and a beef bento. This was a whooping 40 dollars. Insane price for takeout . We ordered through the website and requested spring rolls and gyoza as sides for one bento and the sushi for the other.. However we got just sushi... Okay I was willing to let that slide if the sushi was good. It was very bland, and not good... just boring. No love was there. The beef dish was just as disappointing and boring and the chicken as well. I couldn't even stomach the flavors. It's like my body was telling me something was wrong with the food. I'm currently making myself some dinner, as I didn't even want to eat more of this. I hope more attention is paid to the orders, or to perhaps ensure their website isn't buggy. Also teriyaki should not be bland. It is rich, salty, and sweet. I likely will not be back, unless it is to try their bubble tea... but def no hot food again any time soon...

We found the food pretty good. I know others did not. The owner was there and he was maintaining quality. The price was high for takeout $47.00 for two people. The cost will likely keep me away.

If you like sushi, don't order the sushi. I can't comment on the rest, but the sushi was bad. The rice was hard and dense, the fillings were tasteless, and the best part is that the salmon was smoked. I suppose that I should have read the menu better. Not great, and disappointed. Ah well.

I ordered 2 small trays of sushi and the pork wonton soup with 2 drinks and was very disappointed. The total was over $50 dine in. The portions were small and flavours underwhelming. This franchise demonstrates the modern pursuit of profits, while lacking a passion for quality and value. It's not a good representation of the culture's cuisine. I feel bad for writing such a poor review due to the fact the owner is so involved and tentative of his customers, but with any transaction they are open for criticism. In my opinion, many things would need to change for this establishment to be successful, and earn my business. The average consumer isn't basic enough to repeat patronage. $50 dollars can provide many more lunch options with better food at a far more competitive price.

Disappointed ! We called 1 bento box, 1 noodle and 1 passion fruit drink. The beef is pretty chewy which we could not enjoy. The tempura shrimp just feel like a fried dough stick with shrimp taste, to be honest. The drink is OMG, the WORST, it’s exactly like a cup of water with a hint of passion fruit flavour : 1 star for the customer service and 1 star for the decoration. First time and will be the last time !!!

Best place in london On top of the amazing customer service and fresh food, the portion are BIG. So much bang for your buck! Definitely will make a regular visit here!

Amazing food everytime!! Staff is friendly & kind. Feels like seeing friends on every visit. Very clean place with parking infront of store. Shout out to Robby the owner who always makes me laugh.

Very clean place to eat. The food was pretty quick to be served and was very tasty. The server was very patient and walked us through each thing on the menu carefully and helped us get exactly what we wanted. We will definitely return here again!
