I was very happy with my stay. Staff is nice, room is simple but clean and tidy. Breakfast could be better BUT it is more than enough to start the day and its close to excellent cafes. Building was okay, average, HOWEVER the walls are not very sound proof. Take ear plus if you noise sensitive. Room had a nice bathtube which was a great asset! Conclusion: hotel might not be 5 stars alone, but adding up the comfortable stay + The great price, it makes it worth 5 stars!
If we stayed in the first room we were given it would have rated one star. First of all the positive part- the staff are very pleasant and were happy to help with any problems which is a plus. Also the price was really good. The coffee machine was also very good, breakfast was minimal but ok - toast or muffins. The main problems were noise and cleanliness. The first room I was given was filthy- walls, mirrors and French door to balcony were covered in dirt which was extra shocking because of the sunlight streaming through. My bed had a hair in it and it was definitely an eyelash on that pillow. I had the sheets changed and at least felt better sleeping in that bed. The rug had not been vacuumed and I never heard a vacuum the 6 nights we stayed. The second night the hotel was busier and then I had very noisy plumbing in the wall behind my bed for what seemed like hours. Any shower or toilet flush was running down the pipes behind my head. I asked to be moved the next day and was accommodated quickly. Top floor and at the far end where there was no noise from plumbing. The room was bigger and cleaner and the rest of the stay was ok. I wouldn’t stay here again and since there are old buildings in Montreal I would phone and ask for a quiet room when I come again.
Our room was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The in-room fridge was working, but we didn't use it. The hotel is located on St. Hubert, which is not glamorous, but is convenient to a lot of downtown Montreal. The Berri-UQAM Metro station is a block away. Check-in was efficient and friendly. The cold breakfast bar was fine, and features cereal, yogurt, bagels and coffee/tea/juice. Parking in the municipal garage across the street is $12 a night. One can hear street sounds, and sometimes other guests, but hey, it's downtown. Would stay here again.
Reasonably priced in the best location possible, The Berri UQAM metro hub is a 2 minute walk away, and any sort of shopping or event is a half hour walk at most if you don't wanna take the subway. Cheap, secure parking DIRECTLY across from the hotel. The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, the wifi and shower pressure are great. Breakfast is light, mostly toast, bagels, cereal, muffin kind of stuff. Coffee? Surprisingly good. The only issue is that noise separation isn't the greatest, so you hear lots of creaks and door bangs in the middle of the night when people come in, but all around it wasn't too bad. Just remember: this isn't the Marriot or anything like that. It's not the kind of hotel room you kick back in all day. All other factors considered, I've experienced far less for more money. Something tells me this is gonna be a regular spot to hang my hat when I'm in town.
This hotel experience is next level and i loved the whole setup there. Friendly staff, good environment, pretty neat and tidy rooms. All the check in process took 5 mins and I was so happy to be there. They told us that there is a small breakfast, but we had a big breakfast with cereals, muffins, bread, bagels, orange, coffee, hc and much more.. I will definitely go back to the same hotel to stay when i go to montreal.
The name of the business has the word econo right in it, so to expect luxury is a bit of a stretch; however what you do get at this property is a lot of value and a great location with respect to the central bus station and one of the main metro stations Berri-UQAM. You also get respectful and professional management with a lot of hotel experience. You get a recently fully renovated property, clean rooms, a grab and go breakfast, good wifi and very comfortable beds. The rooms may be glamorous, but they serve their propose and most are a decent size. All-in-all this is a straight up no frills but all the basics hotel, but as you can see it packs in a lot of value. There are a lot of other one-off hotel/motels in the general area and they are not nearly as trustworthy or well kept. So keep that in mind when you review them, meaning review versus comparable hotels not fancy hotels with chandeliers. I think you get the idea. Well done Econo Lodge team! Keep up the good work
Good value for money. Central location close to subway, clean room, comfortable bed and $13 /24 hours parking access the street. Saint-Hubert is a little noisy at night so ear plugs are useful.
A cozy little hotel in the heart of Montreal. The rooms are a bit small but clean and comfortable. Another great hotel from the Choice HotelsRooms: 5/5
Staff members took no accountability for issues with the room. Booked a 2 bed room, received a 1 bed room. Toilet clogged, keys didn't work at one point, and the constant "we'll look after it" by the random man hanging out in the lobby did not help. Everything was my fault, apparently. Terrible service, uncaring staff.Rooms: 2/5
The good: Location is perfect for visitors since it's easy to get everywhere. Seconds away from the metro, easy in and outs. You also get access to unlimited drinks. The staff is also very personable and kind. The bad: The rooms are...clean adjacent. Yes, there is house keeping, but don't expect to come to a room that's deep cleaned. Pillows had stains on them, the carpet was obviously just vacuumed and nothing else. Walls have marks on them, and there was also scratches in the ceiling. There also happened to be some sort of leak in our bathroom so hopefully that gets taken care of. And the bathroom sink jets out water making doing anything inefficient. Also, to add as a last point, they have a habit of moving heavy furniture around sometimes late at night. Ultimately, for a cheap spot, it works. But if you're picky, or a bit of a clean/efficiency freak, avoid.
