Have been going to this pool for many years and it has always been my favourite pool. But today my child was treated poorly and unfairly by a female lifeguard and I was very upset and disappointed. The lifeguard shouted at her for doing something on the inflatables that she wasn't aware was not allowed nobody told us of the rules beforehand. The lifeguard was very disrespectful in the way she addressed my child. When I asked her to be gentle when addressing the kids, she stated that it was her job. Later, I noticed several other children breaking the rules - pushing in front of my child in line and doing unsafe things, but none of them were admonished for their behaviour. I had to bring this to the attention of another lifeguard, after which they started paying more attention and asking the kids politely to take turns, etc. Please ensure your staff gets trained in how to be polite and courteous when speaking with the public, and please provide anti-racism and diversity training for your staff. I do believe my child was treated unfairly today, and it ruined our visit to the pool.
Clean and well maintained, no kiddie pool or walk-in shallow end, so not great for toddlers or younger. Pool has a lift for those with mobility issues. Hot tub is nice but doesn't seem very accessible with mobility issues you have to climb several steps to get jn and 3 back down into tub. Not alot of people which is great.
My girlfriend and I had such a great experience here today for lane swimming! All of the lifeguards were absolute gems. Very friendly and helpful especially the lifeguard with a septum piercing! It was also not too busy.nnWhoever was controlling the music also gets props, and they pretty much played all our favorite songs . Will definitely be back.
I purchased an annual rec centre membership specifically to go to this pool. The lifeguards are fantastic and create a safe, wonderful, welcoming environment.nThe facility is nice and clean, and the saltwater pool is refreshing.nThis facility is a real gem.
I'm not a regular user of recreation facilities. However, I got a City of Edmonton gift card for Christmas, and since I already had a Muttart pass, I thought I'd use the card to spoil myself with hot tub access during the cold winter months. I hopped around facilities, and found myself at Eastglen one evening; I haven't gone anywhere else since. Though the number of amenities is limited compared to most leisure centres in Edmonton it is JUST a pool/hot tub/steam room, it had what I was looking for. I also learned that they offer Toonie Friday evening public swims. As the weather warmed, I've been using the pool as well as the hot amenities. As someone who tends to find pools cold, I was delighted to find Eastglen's to be a comfortable temperature! I do notice a slightly musty smell when I'm in the hot tub, but the facility overall is clean and maintained. The lifeguards are friendly, and it's clear that there are 'regulars' I might be becoming one of them!?, as the lifeguards engage in friendly and familiar conversation with several swimmers. It is relatively quiet compared to other pools, which I appreciate.
