E T a Bus Tours

Last Wednesday, I signed up for a trip to a garden in Victoria. It was an extremely hot day and when the bus arrived, it was not air-conditioned. There was a stop in Duncan and we waited on the bus for another bus to move some passengers. There was no reason for this as BOTH buses were going to Victoria!! This fiasco took close to 30 minutes in the horrible heat. On the way home there was a detour to Bear Mountain. Why??? Driving through a sub-division in a non-air-conditioned bus was not a treat. We just wanted to get home. Then the bus broke down and we sat sweltering on the side of the road while traffic went roaring by and the driver tried to contact the tour company. Finally he got it going and stopped at The Haida Way to wait for a rescue bus. I was never so glad to get home in my life. The driver was pleasant and helpful and just as much a victim as the rest of us. This was a horrible trip because of the disorganization and defective bus.

Extremely hot day. Air conditioned bus did not have air conditioning. Sat in Dunan in the heat for 30 minutes for absolutely no reason. The secret garden was nothing spectacular. I have seen much better at the Crow and Gate etc. The lunch was nothing to write home about. The barbecue chicken was so dry as to be inedible. The ribs were delicious but not enough to go around. The tour included a tour of Bear Mountain which consisted of driving up to the hotel, turn around and drive back, all in a bus with no airconditioning. Then to top it off, the bus broke down on the side of the road. When the owner arrived with a replacement bus that actually had airconditioning (why wasn't this bus used in the first place), there was no apology. His attitudge was that we had paid our money. and it wasn't his problem. Even without the bus problems, definitely not worth the money.

Driving in a hot bus with no windows and no air conditioning for 7 hrs on a return trip to Victoria was horrible. The bus company promises you an air condioned but gives you the shaft along the way with a bus that has no windows. The bus broke down on the highway putting us all in danger. Avoid this bus tour as the service is based on greed rather then good service.
