We were recommended this establishment by the front desk at Super 8 however we didn’t realize what time they closed. We arrived 20 min before closing and apologized and offered to go elsewhere but the server happily welcomed us and we had a superb dining experience. The kitchen was very accommodating, the beer selection perfect, the prices were great and the food was on point. The decor was dramatic and had an old world luxury charm that was surprising to find. Absolutely stellar and tipped very well for their above and beyond accommodations. Below is the cup of chowder, a side caesar salad and the chicken avocado wrap.
Surprised how good it was - You should try em. The wife decided she wanted to try a Amherst restaurant - She chose at random and we went to Duncan's Pub - We were both Pleasantly surprised. We had the deep fried pickles to start - Generally you see restaurants having these soggy pickles. Not these ones. Warm and crispy on the outside, Juicey and delicious on the inside. The dipping sauce that came with them was... Being honest, i can't remember it. Drink - We had a pitcher of their sangria. - It wasn't over wined, or over juiced - Not to much ice or random fruit slipping into your cup. Worth the money Food - Now...The wife made the better choice - Not saying mine was bad, Lord no. My Food was good. Wife: Lobster Mac/Cheese - Damn, was this good, just the right cheesiness and lobster mixed it- Best comfort food ever - Wife only let me steal three bites at the table and yelled at me the next day for eating a third of the left overs. : - Wife's complaint was it could have had more lobster. Me: 2 Piece Fish and chips - No complaints. Coleslaw was good, fries were good, Tarter sauce was good and fish was great too. - The first wasn't overcooked, the batter covering it was not overly greasy. When you order fish and chips you expect some down side, but this is just a solid 2 piece dinner. Crispy and delicious.
Duncan's has always been one of the best spots around! Many delicious options. I recently had a rare steak with bearnaise sauce, deep fried pickles and escargot and it was all amazing! My friend's two year old was with us and Darlene went out of her way to talk to her, get her own menu for her and make sure she had a great time!
My first time here last week and I loved it. Special mention to whoever decorated the place for Christmas. It looks really wonderful and creates a special atmosphere. Our food was delicious and portions were perfect if not too much for one. Staff was pleasant, attentive and quick even though the place was at full capacity. Can't wait to try many other things on the menu.
Great service and atmosphere and very clean. Atlantic salmon is a very cheap and small filet Medium rare steak was 50% raw and baked potato was half cooked. BUT THE BEER IS AWESOME. You win some you lose some and I would still come back and try something else
The Poseidon Adventure was awesome and there are too many types of local beer to list. It's a very cozy place right in downtown Amherst

Nice pub, food was good. Plenty of parking next door. Staff was friendly and attentive.
I stopped in here today June 21 while up in Amherst for work. It's got a bit of mixed decor layout one side of the restaurant looks like a nice, formal lounge/dining area, with big comfy chairs and booths and the other side is more "modern indoor dining", nice stone/brick wall by the front, a decent amount of seating and comfortable dining chairs. I ordered the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and fries and let me tell you, it was delicious! Tender, juicy MSM, a nice marbled rye, and fresh, lightly seasoned, handcut fries. I also can't forget Darlene I believe that was my server's name, I apologize if I'm mistaken, but she was so friendly and very attentive. Thanks guys, I'll definitely be back! P.s. I added the photos because the ones I had saw on the Google maps etc, weren't updated, so here's the updated menu
Great stop! Comfy seating. Lovely pub atmosphere. Had a seafood platter that was enormous. The seafood chowder was chock full of seafood. Server was friendly and engaging
