If you are in the west end on a Friday, head to Dufflet Pastries on Norseman for their weekly street sale. Come with an open mind as there are no guarantees as to what’s on the shelves. The consistency, week over week, comes with the quality ingredients they use no preservatives and delicious flavour. The cakes are always hits for our dinner parties and freeze well if you buy a little extra. Vegan options are available. Shout out to Miguel for his efficient service and pleasant demeanour. More cookies please - the kids love them!!
Dufflet cakes are the real deal. I discovered this brand awhile ago and haven’t looked back - cakes are beautiful, reasonably priced and the best I’ve tasted MUST TRY: carrot cake with walnuts. You can just tell they use natural ingredients and have the highest quality cakes out there. Get one for your next event you won’t be disappointed!
I called the company 2nd Week in January 2023. I had send an email 2 days before and did not get a response. The employees were annoyed that I called them to ask for information regarding location of retails preferably small ones that sell their cakes. I bought a small cake at Metro in Toronto. I live in St Catharines and things are very difficult to find. Customer service person could not answer my question and told me to look at the website. I could not find the information on the website. Eventually I spoke to Operations who was asking me why I was calling.. I was calling to complement the company on a great cake. Today I am complaining about the rude service on the telephone making customers feel like a nuisance.. I eventually found the list on their website that is poorly designed . Went to Zehrs who claims they now longer sell their cakes. Zehrs is owned by Loblaws. Metro is too far from my home. I sent an email again to the company to remove my personal email. Its too much of hassle dealing with this arrogant indifferent company that does not have time for customer who buy a premium product. I will buy La Rocca cake instead for my birthday in March!!! I would prefer to deal with a smaller company rather that Loblaws, Sobeys and yes Metro who are price gauging customers.. I prefer to deal with LaRocca who welcome retail customer enquiries..
I had a terribly disappointing experience after we ordered a red/pink velvet cake order for a very special birthday celebration. I was anticipating a rich, moist red/pink velvet cake and instead got a mouthful of dry carrot cake. I'm not sure what happened but it definitely put a damper to what was supposed to be a highlight of a special day. We went out of the way to order from Dufflet as their quality used to be top notch.
It is not about the location, it is a about their pastries. It is industrial quality second grade pastries. There is no whipping cream, it is pure fat cream that at first bite makes your nose sweat. The taste of the hazelnut cake is good, the ingredients below pa r for a queen street reputable patisserie. Obviously, they lost their mojo since I used to have their cakes in their first years of establishment. Shame. There is no difference between bubble packaged cakes from the supermarket and theirs today.
Ordered online with a pickup at the Norseman location. The whole process was easy, and delighted to have a special order cake for my wife’s birthday.
Didappointed. Picture will tell you why.
This is head office and main bakery but they do have a sale on Fridays
