Popular eatery on Fairmount. $5 for tiny balls of gnocchi in a homemade tomato sauce sauce for sale, too. I chose the option with cheese for an extra $1. Came with a spoonful of Parmesan that tasted like… soap. The gnocchis themselves are inexpensive and a fun snack as you wander around the neighbourhood. Staff serves the take-out boxes with a smile!
Even though I dont care for gnocci very much, $5 for gnocci is a steel and I would have been here all the time back in college. They have three options but they arent very different. The spicy version just has some pepper flakes on it and the cheese as a bit on top but essentially they are the same. That being said it is still pretty good.nnIt is stewed in a huge pot and half of what you get is sauce so it feels almost like a soup but thats not nessasarily bad. We got this in the blazing summer but this would be amazing in the winter.nnThe stand just fits their pot and a few employees so there it is only to go orders. That being said, one thing I like a lot about them is that you can bring your own mug and get a discount. Not only reducing waste but encouraging it too is great.nnThe line seems long and constant but it goes super fast considering every order is one of three things and they only take cash. Speaking of which, bring cash! There are ATMs a few blocks away but its still a pain to go get it if you didnt bring any.nnOverall a great spot and iconic in Montreal.
Absolutely amazing! The food was delicious the gnocchi with tomato sauce and parmesan tasted fresh, rich, and homemade. The service was super friendly and welcoming, and everything came out just right. The place was very clean, and the atmosphere had a unique, cozy charm that made the whole experience even better. Honestly, one of the best spots I’ve tried in Montreal. Highly recommended!
Tasty gnocchi served pretty fast as well. Waited in line for a bit since it was pretty popular. Though the line was long it shortened pretty fast due to the efficiency of serving. Since they really only served one thing, they can quickly put them out.nThe gnocchi came out hot and fresh. The texture of the pasta was really good. It had a nice springy squish to it, which almost melted in your mouth. The sauce also had a good flavour, in which it tasted a bit nostalgic.nnOverall pretty nice thing to try if you are in the area.
We were brought here as part of a food tour on the Montreal Mile End. The gnocchi + tomato sauce was really delicious and for the price nothing can be beat!nnWe wouldn’t have heard about this place had it not been for our tour guide Eric so we were glad to have it as a stop on the tour. There was a large lineup outside there is no seating inside but it seemed to be moving quickly.nnThey don’t accept credit - cash or Interac only!
