"Freshly cooked Chinese food for pick up and delivery. We no longer offer our fine dining experience due to the pandemic. Call well in advance to book your takeout order as we’re usually quite busy during peak hours. For special long weekends and holidays, it’s suggested to book your order days to a week in advance or more. For example: Xmas Eve, NYE, NYD, Mothers’ Day, customers started booking their orders a month in advance. Placing an order on short notice is ok, but we cannot guarantee your preferred pickup time and in some cases we may not accept more orders if we’re fully booked up."

We tried the kung po chicken and the curry chicken combination meals. They were very generous in size and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. We’ll be going back again for sure! Very tasty!
What an amazingly talented family. How precious is that when the chef comes out to speak with his customers. Then his wife and daughter served me a lemon tea prepared to perfection. The food was excellent and at those more than fair prices, it's not even worth cooking for yourself. Leave it to chef. Bravo!
Ordered take out last night. Food was great. Lots of veggies. One item wrong on order 3 types of meat -chicken pork and shrimp - on completely vegetarian order. When contacred they offered to replace it with their own driver when they were available even though i had ordered through skip. Will order again but directly to the restaurant next time in case of mishaps. Great customer service. Quality and quality of food also excellent
Amazing restaurant!!! You can taste the difference in freshness and quality opposed to other places. Also the staff are super nice and hard working. We always call ahead if we can to avoid any wait. :
Very busy spot Saturday night! Advise to order well ahead. Poor girl at front was getting overwhelmed a bit, most all customers were understanding though My order was about half an hour late after arriving to pick up but I could see how busy it was and as long as I was back home for puck drop I was happy. Another customer said to always come 10 minutes later than they say. Had the dinner for 3, family loved the chicken balls, beef and almonds were pretty good, chicken chop suey was pretty good too would've liked a bit more crunchy noodles with it rice was okay, a little dry but could be due to the time crunch going on, same with the breaded shrimp we ordered extra, it was very hard. We also ordered the plain lo mein and it too was a tad dry but overall it was enjoyable, everything got 'ate up' and the egg rolls were good too. Service was super friendly and considering how busy they were that was very impressive and I certainly think we will order from this Chinese food restaurant again. Will have to try their egg foo yong no mushroom egg foo yong though which is disappointing
The Managers and staff at Dragon Yan are some of the friendliest and most personable people you'll meet. Always delicious and amazing food to make that Birthday party or celebrations that much better. There always dishes that cater to everyone Chinese culinary tastes. Personal recommendations; House Noodles, Sweet Sour Chicken Balls, Cantonese Chow Mein. The restaurant is located very close to the Lansdowne Place Mall and one of the busiest streets in Peterborough. The Premier destination in town for Chinese food, I always have the itch to grab my phone to call in an order or walk in! Kid-friendliness: Always friendly staff and nice atmosphere for families to visit. Parking: Dragon Yan is located in a quite intersection of the Southern Peterborough suburban neighborhood. There is around 5 parking spaces, however there is plenty of free parking. The food is incredible and definitely worth the extra minute of walking to get your delicious Chinese food. Dietary restrictions: Dishes can be customized to cater to customer needs. The chefs try their best to make the dishes work for everyone.
First impressions: As soon as you enter the place you find yourself making a little trip to a piece of China, the music and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Then we have this young lady so friendly and nice, welcoming us and making us feel comfortable. The place was neat, clean and nice. The food: I found it excellent, the flavor and quality was neat. Everything I tried had a very authentic flavor. Nothing overcooked or raw, perfect texture and softness. I liked it, I'll come back for sure.
We are regular, loyal customers who just had the most terrible customer service experience. After spending a significant amount on dinner, the order arrived with one incorrect item and two missing items. We called the restaurant and after waiting on hold for a very long time the server came back and said, "I would like to remind you that we have cameras in our kitchen” We were SHOCKED, to say the least. We asked if they were implying that we lied, and they continued to hurl insults and be incredibly rude. When we asked to speak to a manager, the staff member said, " Listen, I'm just working for minimum wage here." I’m at a loss for words and can only hope that the owner of the restaurant sees this review. REPLY I had no intention of answering you again, it’s apparent you will make excuses no matter what information you are given, but you are so off course here, you’re in another universe. We are long time, loyal customers who have supported your business since its inception. To be treated like this is very disheartening. The last time we ordered from you, we were also missing a dish, but we never said anything. This time, we were missing three dishes. Chicken balls, vegetable spring rolls, and beef almond, not just two spring rolls as you claimed. That’s 30 percent of the total order. There was a box labeled “vegetable spring roll” but they were pork. We had gathered as a family to celebrate the arrival of our granddaughter; our daughter had just given birth four days prior, and she has a sensitivity to pork. She bit into the spring roll labeled “vegetable” and it was filled with pork. So, no, she didn’t “eat it” as you claimed. She threw it out. I’m not sure which “freebies” you are referring to. We were missing three dishes and instead received one extra order of egg rolls, which we returned to you, uneaten, that evening. As far as your staff and what was said, there were EIGHT people present for the conversation. She said, and I quote, “I only make minimum wage here”. We wouldn’t and couldn’t just make that up. I’m not speculating what you pay your staff, I’m just telling you what they said. The conversation was on speaker. All seven other people are willing to come forward and confirm this. You were not present for any of the conversations, so I’m not sure what leg you have to stand on as far as knowing what was actually said. As you can see in my profile, I have NEVER given a business a bad review. This situation was SO shocking that we decided to stop in on the way home to speak with someone. We were there for 30 minutes, and we timed it. I have a medical condition and began to get very overheated while waiting. I grabbed a drink out of the fridge, but there was no one up front, we were essentially ignored. I called out “excuse me, I need to buy a water”, no one answered, we had no change on us, only debit, and could not wait any longer. I had already cracked the drink, and no one ever came back to check on us. We were leaving for Australia the next day, so 30 minutes was all we could afford to wait. I spoke to your wife by phone that evening, I told her about the drink and asked that she take it out of any potential refund. She said “OK”, so for you to throw this in our face as if we were stealing from you is just hurtful and disgusting. You are not a doctor. There is no comparison between an emergency room and a Chinese food restaurant. To say so is simply ridiculous. We pay for food and therefore expect a certain level of service and satisfaction. You have continuously insulted me and made a mockery of this whole situation. From your Google reviews it’s clear that blaming the customer is your MO. Every person present at that dinner witnessed the appalling way we were treated, and we had the right to express our disappointment. That’s why this platform exists. You have lost my business and the business of our entire family. I no longer wish to partake in this back and forth. I hope you can one day learn to speak to people with kindness and respect. It would go a long way.
Excellent food and service with each and every visit. If you love WeeWok but have always wanted to dine in head to their sister restaurant Dragon Yan. They have a large menu to choose from and excellent portion sizes. Order a few dishes off the menu and you are able to try a little bit of everything if their combinations don't interest you. All their dishes are made with fresh ingredients and are not greasy and hard on the stomach like other Chinese food restaurants. Dragon Yan and WeeWok are the only places to get amazing Chinese food in the Peterborough area. I recommend trying the sweet and sour wontons.
Customer service was great. Prices were reasonable. However I would say the taste was mild. It could use a bit more sauce in your dishes and spices. Maybe it's just my taste buds but I will try it again because of the good hospitality. Hoping for a 5 Start review the next time. Thanks guys.
