For Canadian Western style Chinese food it was pretty good by that standard. However, skip if you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. Going here I knew what to expect and for Western style Chinese food it was good. I was looking forward to the buffet but not sure if they no longer offer it. My wife ordered the wonton noodle soup for $16.95 and I ordered a combination plate for $18.95. My mother in law ordered black bean fried noodles for $18.95. My wife enjoyed her wonton noodle soup and said it was a nice surprise. My mother in law didn't like her black bean fried noodles as it was overly salty. Fortunately they were very nice in taking it back and not changing us. As for my combined plate it was good and I finished it all. The service was excellent and our server was very helpful in resolving the issue with my mother in law order. I don't blame the restaurant as black bean sauce is already salty itself, so not sure what my mother in law was expecting from her dish lol. Luckily they were nice about it.
Didn't know what to expect when we walked in as the restaurant was mostly empty. Ordered the dinner for four and started with wonton soup. Broth was weak but hot.Sweet and sour pork was tender. Rice, almond chicken and veggies were good. Good portions.Food: 4/5
I was on the Island visiting family and this is where we met for dinner. My family members eat here often and I can see why! Buffet was well stocked with lots of options. The waitress was super friendly and kept the teapot and water glasses full. Plates are small but I found that welcome so I could sample a bunch of different things several times and not get bogged down with one huge plate. The place is easy to find as it’s right on the highway and across from a beautiful park.
The Szechuan was amazing as well as the Wonton. Service was a little lacking. Also, had to ask for chopsticks whereas most more authentic places, you have to ask for cutlery. Otherwise, great food.
The deep fried wontons have no filling, they are simply americanized wonton strips, you've been warned.
The Restaurant was super cold took for ever to serve us then they finally come over food was ok our waitress that we eventually ended up with was good tho . .... Other lady wasnt i only give half a star
While the food is relatively good; unfortunately that is about it. Here are my issues with it: 1 the portions are tiny 2 they lack ingredients our soup was $20 for water a tad of tofu and canned mushrooms. 3 the fried rice was nearly $15 for a small portion with minimal protein or veggies. I can literally count how many pieces of chicken and peas there were in the entire thing. 4 the price - at the local competitor it’s 8.95 for a thing of soup; it’s nearly double here and as I mentioned the portions are tiny. While the food may be somewhat tasty the portions and the price are absolutely insane I will be staying away for this place for the reasons above. If their competitors can offer the same meals for six dollars less I just don’t see how they can justify the rising cost, because if it were simply inflation everywhere would be exorbitant and it’s not.
Been working on the restaurant's sign for days. Staff has been awesome. Lunch buffet is great!!
