There's a variety of types when it comes to doctors. There's the kind who get into it for the money, the kind who want to try and change the world, the kind who want to care for people... and then somewhere near the bottom, near the dregs, the worst of the worst kind of doctor... you have those like Dr. Richard Simon Jr, the kind of doctor with an authoritarian complex who simply wants to tell people that they're wrong, that he's right, that he knows it all and that he's got all the answers... which just so happen to revolve solely around his chosen field of medicine. Got a hangnail? Sleep apnea! Chronic pain? Sleep apnea! Autism? Sleep apnea! HIV? Sleep apnea! There's nothing that can't be cured by randomly diagnosing you with sleep apnea! He doesn't even need to do a sleep study to diagnose you because he knows it all! I'm not exaggerating there, that is literally what he claimed. On a personal level, besides his need to always be right, his single point sagacity, linear thinking, failure to recognize that correlation does not imply causation and his propensity to cling to polarity in a state of mental insecurity, he's overly condescending to the point where, if you even hint towards disagreement he'll threaten to have your drivers license suspended... no, I'm not joking, again he literally threatened to get my drivers license suspended because I told him I wasn't interested in having a "normal" 16/8 hour sleep cycle. Apparently in Crazy Land not keeping "regular hours" is all the excuse a doctor needs to start screwing up your life! He also went out of his way to belittle my chronic pain, claiming I wasn't in as much pain as I am, condescendingly mocking me, trying his hardest to antagonize me and... I'll be honest, it took every ounce of will power not to grab the nearest blunt object in the room and forcibly stab it into the discs in his back in order to give him a proper basis of comparison. Just as a general protip, if someone suffers from chronic pain... don't ever... don't EVER antagonize them by casually dismissing their pain and suffering. Every time someone does that it makes the person with chronic pain a little more dead inside, just that much angrier, that much more flustered and infuriated... and that hatred just churns over inside them, continually building until the WANT to inflict their pain into others explodes to the surface. That's the neat trick about suffering from chronic pain... every time some horrible tragedy takes place, every time there's someone who loses it and goes postal... people with chronic pain... they don't ever need to ask, "Why?" or "How?" ...because they know what it's like to suffer in endless torment day in and day out, they know what it's like to be constantly pushed to the edge by people like Dr. Richard Simon Jr. This guy is NOT a doctor, he's a megalomaniac with a medical degree who wants to hurt people by attempting to manipulate them via verbal subjugation into thinking all their problems are solely related to their sleep cycle. He will badger you, he will belittle you, he will disparage you and he will even threaten you if you don't agree with everything he says.
Uterly horrible experience. He would ask me questions and then tell me he didn't want to here it before I could finish answering. He was extremely angry for what I don't know. Jaw dropping !!
I've never been so insulted in my life. I walked out of the office shaking my head. I feel terrible for his poor wife.
