Dr. Kerry Sheppard

I had Dr. Sheppard as my doctor when I was pregnant with my daughter, he also did my C-section. Very good at answering my questions and patient, I would recommend him to anyone

Dr. Sheppard was such a bully and very coercive with me when I shared my plan to have a natural/physiological birth at 38 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. When I indicated that I wanted my consent to be obtained before cervical checks he said "We don't do cervical checks for fun." When I questioned information he shared with me he said, "Yeah well you wouldn't know. You're not an OB, or even a family doctor. You're a pregnant woman." He raised his voice and was very disrespectful.

I've had doctor sheppard for my three previous pregnancies, and will be seeing him again soon for my fourth! Him and the staff at his clinic are wonderful! Always a friendly atmosphere. Dr sheppard is very knowledgeable, honest, and truly seems to care about his patients.

Dr. Sheppard was rude and dismissive. He spent most of our first appointment discussing the need for policies prohibiting partners from attending appointments during COVID, citing Horizon Health policies that they could not produce when asked; I later switched OBs and am able to bring my husband because it's a discretionary policy. After this, he spent the remainder trying to convince me to get the covid vaccine, at 8 months pregnant. When I said, firmly, that I'd like to move on to other issues relating directly to my pregnancy, he said 'you've already taken up quite a bit of time. We can go over any questions you have next time'. From the short conversation we did have about my queries, it became very clear that if you are interested in exploring natural childbirth options; freely moving with the urges of your body during labor i.e. not being connected to an EFM; not being forced into a lithotomy position to deliver, etc and basing your decisions on evidence rather than outdated practices and policies --- this is NOT the doctor for you. I recommend steering very clear of him, especially if you are having a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy. He does not listen to patients and is one of the most detached, unsupportive, unempathetic doctors I've encountered.

Best doctor I've ever had, had him for both pregnancies and he's amazing. Really cares about his patients.
