Dr Darryl Ableman

Been seeing Dr. Ableman for about 10 - 15 years. Quick, to the point and always on the mark with his diagnosis. My daughter, now 9, has been seeing him shortly after she was born. He has been great with her as well. Friendly staff too!

I found Dr Ableman when I had my son and looked for a Dr. to circumsize him. Being a first time mom to a boy, I was somewhat scared of the event, but Dr Ableman was very informative, he even played a short video explaining all the steps and after care techniques. My husband is jewish, and the dr was kind enough to let us perform a short ceremony torah prayer before the surgery. It was done at his office, quick, everything went as expected and recovery was also very fast. When we returned for a check up, I asked him if I could continue taking my son to him as his patient, since he specializes in kids. Very happily he said yes! : which made me very happy because before my son was born I was already living in Canada for two years and still didn't have a family dr. I kept on taking my son to his office for his rutinary check ups and vaccines, and it came a day when my husband got a cold. I told Dr Ableman we still didn't have a family dr after 3 years in this country, since very few drs are taking in new patients. Dr Ableman offered to be our family dr and has provided us with his excellent care since then. My son is now 3.5 years old, and he is literally obsessed with Dr. Ableman, his "happy sticks", his funny cartoon ties, and his many impersonations just to make his patients laugh. His walls are full with pictures of all the babies he has delivered and I am happy to have him as my dr to deliver my soon to be born daughter. Thank you Dr Ableman for all that you do! We love you!! After doing much research on doctors for the pre and post natal care of our baby, I was set on Dr Ableman and was extremely happy with my choice. Dr Ableman has an enormous amount of experience and it clearly showed leading up to the birth of our baby, the birth itself and care after the birth. We wanted an expert we could trust and Dr Ableman has exceeded our expectations.

Dr Ableman is one of the best if not THE best doctors I have ever had. I feel lucky and confidant that he is the doctor to my children! He and his staff and clinics are amazing! We love you all! Thank you for always being there!

This doctor is the absolute worst. He runs an appointment mill and won't speak to you for more than a minute or two. He doesn't care about your medical issues. He's rude, sometimes nasty. His staff are extremely incompetent. I would not suggest him to ANYONE. He's a terrible doctor and was horrible for prenatal care. I've noticed he is a decent doctor to some people, spending lots of time with them and others he disregards like they're garbage. He's not a professional and I deeply regret going to him. Worst doctor I have ever been treated by. It's funny he wrote a book on pregnancy because he would barely answer any of my questions throughout mine - and he was my doctor! Perhaps if I paid the fee for the book I would have gotten the answers I was seeking instead of having to go it alone! Google was more informative than he was!!

EDIT: Do not no-show/miss your appointments or you will no longer be seen unless by walk-in no matter your history or current health state. I learned today first hand that his time is worth more than my health. My entire opinion has changed of this man.. He has been my doctor for over 25+ years and has always been genuinely caring and professional with my mental and physical health. He is not a MD that over-prescribes and is also concious of your health benefits for your prescription costs which I found helpful when I was a young adult. He's very busy as he wants to treat as many of his regular appointments on top of his walk-in clients so you may find him succinct while he researches your medical chart in front of you. He is able to determine your exact diagnosis with only a fraction of your symptoms I've found, without fail, on many occasions. I have been very candid with him about my mental health and he has never made me feel foolish. This doctor is the best I've ever seen and I would rather travel 1.5hr on transit than see any MDs in my vicinity.

Earlier I had a family doctor. I was of the opinion that there is no better family doctor from my previous family doctor. Dr.Ableman I accidentally found via website, looking for a doctor who accepts new patients. God was on my side and ordered me Dr. Ableman. My problem was chronic back pain. I used to wait on appointments for neurosurgery for a year, for the CT scan was long waiting time to, MRI I never even received. But with enormous help from Dr.Ableman, I have solved my problem in less than a year. Dr. Ablemans help was invaluable in selfless dedication to get an appointments as son possible because he understood my terrible pain. Many time he did direct contacts with the Royal Columbia Hospital, and his commitment authority to be Dr.Chan my neurosurgery. Dr.Chan perfectly done his job. Big thanks for him to! Dr Ableman is by far the best doctor Ive ever been treated by. Great family doctor. Delivered ALL 3 of our children! A true professional at what he does.

Hearing details of how he has been dealing with a senior leaving them in tears about their lab results, not discussing the implications. Terrible bedside manner, instilling fear in a senior, shameful unprofessional behaviour.

Horrendous doctor. Doesn't care about his patients, can't admit he's made an error, uncooperative, doesn't take responsibility for his staff, clock watcher and if you aren't pregnant he couldn't give a toss about you. His front desk staff are incompetent and lie on his behalf. Shameful behaviour.
