Zenith was super friendly when I went in today. He’s trying to clear out his stock and gave me 20% off for spending $50. From top to bottom: Carnelian, obsidian, laboradite shines like moonstone, goldstone, red ocean jasper, pineapple jasper I think. The stones are well polished and look beautiful. I’ll definitely be back.
Went in today at 2:10pm. Store sign says 3:00pm, online hours 3:00pm. Not even 1 minute goes by and he said "Can I help?" I said "not yet, I just want to look at the beads" he immediately said "I close at 2:30. I close at 2:30. Come back. I close now" and started shoo-ing me away out the door. It wasn't even 2:15 and he was kicking me out. I was going to spend my money here, but I definitely won't be back. I will spend my money at the other beading store down the road.
Very informative, excellent service. I'm greeted with a friendly kindness each time I visit! Very reasonable pricing, wide variety of tools and supplies. I can't recommend Dowd more for convenience, selection, and nice conversation!!
Extremely rude. I was new to a Jewelry. I was supposed to buy some equipment from him. I never made any promises. I got very good deal on used equipment so I bought them and some stuff he was overcharging by even $100. So I bought them elsewhere. Three months goes by and I just need a few things, he was extremely rude. His exact words was “ if you don’t buy from me, I don’t sell to you. If you buy from someone else keep buying from someone else. If you buy from online keep buying from online.“ He has a reputation of being extremely rude and overpriced from most of the jewellery supply shops in Ottawa and from Montreal to Toronto, they’ve all heard of him because of his rudeness and his ridiculous prices. He will never get my business again and if you’re smart you would do your homework and stay away from him he’s a rude and has Outrageous prices
Dropped by as a new Jeweler looking at what is out there. The owner sorry dont know his name was incredible. To start he sold me a jewelers handbook that is used at the schools. Next he answered any questions I had and was happy to recommend exactly what I need. He was very helpful I would highly recommend you go check him out
Wonderful experience shopping at Dows Supply Co today. The owner is really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He took time to answer all my questions and recommend the best tools. I am only just starting in jewellery making and I couldn't be happier I have found this place. This is definitely going to be my go to shop now. Just bear in mind that due to Covid-19 their hours have been reduced so make sure to call before dropping by.
This is a wonderful store for metal-smithing. The owner is always welcoming and will to offer great advise as to which tool is best suited for your project. Will quickly order items that is not in stock. His casting service is quick, and of excellent quality. This should be your first stop for all your jewelry making needs.
There are very few old school artisans left in this world. The gentleman who runs this store is most able and knowledgeable. The single star reviews left here are as unfair as their reasons. The cost of repairs and supplies are more than fair considering the skill set of the owner.
This shop is full of amazing tools for jewelry making. Also it's a must see for the most unique beads/semi precious stones. Have found some of my favourite beads at this shop. #beaders The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. A shop full of everything on my wish list. A MUST VISIT!
Light to moderate lapidary and stone setting equipment and supplies. Excellent choice for a beginner jewelry maker. The owner is a very helpful man, he can give you tips and tricks if you ask. Give them a call to check availability before heading over there.
