Excellent location and stay at this hotel. Within walking distance 12-15 min to Old Montreal and Old Port. Lots of restaurants and bars around here. Pool is phenomenal--with an outdoor seating/large patio area that opens up to the pool area. Sadly, no hot tub however. Restaurant looked exquisite and was always busy, but pricey, so we opted for restaurants around the hotel. The rooms are practically soundproof which is also amazing! Shower/bathroom was exceptionally clean. Beds were comfortable Also handy to have the underground/lower level shops and food court beneath the hotel. Parking is $40/day with unlimited come and go privileges and $15/day for so in and out privileges which is what we opted for. Staff and concierge were very friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The cleaning staff were also very nice and did an excellent job!! Highly recommend this hotel!
Clean, very friendly personnel, convenient location. The only mistake we made when booked, was the windows were facing the noisy jazz festival. Very loud and long, until 12 and 1am, so if you have kids, like us, book the opposite site rooms. The breakfast was superb. The swimming pool was good, clean, plenty of towels, and they have a sauna! Sauna is very hot, which is very important.
I'm feeling disappointed to leave this review. My wife and I booked a room here for a vacation.nnEarlier today after returning from a meal, I found my personal belongings on the bedside desk had been searched, also personal belongings taken that were folded up in my clothing.nnSpeaking to the front staff, they directed me to cleaning staff supervisor. The cleaning staff denied taking anything. Cleaning staff supervisor told me they'd check the cameras.nnAn hour later after not hearing anything back I spoke with front desk supervisor. She told me the security staff was not in on weekends and I'll have to wait for them to find out the service history of who entered my room... And said they believe their cleaning staff. Basically told me she didn't believe me. I'd like to know who was in my room then, and i do but
We enjoyed our visit to this hotel. It was definitely one of the better Doubletree locations I've seen, on par with many full-service Hilton locations beyond Doubletree. We had a clean and adequate room with a view of the nearby pedestrian plaza and attractions. Among the highlights were the bar on the outside patio, part of the Bivouac. One night, they were totally slammed and were a bit abrupt about needing to check in with the hostess. We were seated in good order in any case. The next night, the bar was not busy and we seated inside. The breakfast buffet was large and we were happy that it was part of our Diamond status. The underground shopping nearby is easily accessible. One word of warning. The adjacent parking garage, accessed by elevator, is quite large and isn't immediately visible. We needed to ask the valet about how to navigate. When we were there, the street adjacent to the front door was essentially closed on one end, requiring folks to do a U-turn. We liked the hotel and would likely return if visiting Montreal.
Rooms were very clean and beds were nice and comfortable. The housekeeping staff were friendly and approachable.nWebsite claims there's parking available self-park & valet but be warned it's not exclusively for hotel guests. We went out one day, and when we arrived at the end of our evening, we were told the parking lot was full and had to valet our car. We spoke to 2 different reception staff who then spoke with their managers to see if they could credit the valet cost, or at minimum charge us the amount we would've had to pay for self-park, but we're told there was nothing they could do.nI beg to differ. As someone who's worked for hotels in the past, we've done much more than just comp a parking pass to make a guests stay a pleasant one.nFor the amount of money we spent on a 2-night stay $609 CAD I hardly think a $39+tax valet charge is something to hold firm on. Especially from a big player in the hotel game.nUnfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment and would encourage anyone reading this to look elsewhere for accommodation.
