I guess I’d say, don’t be fooled by the facade. It looks a bit nicer than it is. Room was big with an absolutely great view, but man was this place falling apart. We had a corner room king suite. The bathroom was so tiny you could barely shut the door, maybe an 1” clearance between the door and toilet, maybe because the toilet was in the middle of the bathroom floor. Seriously, a good 5-6” out from the wall and blocking most of the tub/shower access. AC barley worked, water stains on the ceiling, wallpaper was peeling, fixtures in the bathroom were dirty and dingy, plugs were so worn that they could not hold our cell phone chargers or my curling iron, and most nasty of all, the inside of the toilet seat appeared to have blood on it when we got there. Disgusting!!!nWe were traveling across the country, it was late, we were exhausted, and figured it would do for a nights sleep. Bed was fairly comfortable, view of the river was great.
There were pros and cons. The area was great; right downtown and safe - with lots of places nearby to dine. The front desk person was very helpful. Yet, there was no breakfast an adjacent place had a buffet and the convenience store fridge/freezer was nearly empty. In addition, when I got to my room, the toilet wouldn't flush. They fixed it - but then the next day the handle broke.
The staff are the bright spot of this property. Megan at Baker’s Bar and Grille actually remembered me from my last stay, which had been more than 8 months earlier. It was nice to chat with her again. Brandon and Kneff at the front desk helped me out with my Sharpie emergency. The location near the airport and museums was convenient for my needs. As others have stated, the rooms really need an upgrade.
This hotel is very run down. There was no air condition in the hallway on our floor,it was soo hot, there was only ice on one level of the hotel, mold, dirt, missing ceiling tiles water leak spots, even the wall in the lobby was bubbling. The bathroom by the restaurant also had no air conditioner and it smelled horrible.nI will say the staff was super nice and helpful and I did enjoy them! But I wouldn’t stay here again until they fix things up, I was very uncomfortable.
Have wanted to stay here for a couple years. What a disappointing experience.nFront desk personnel were awesome.. we will start with that. Property is outdated and needs torn down and put to better use.nnHotel smells like an old , unventilated office building, in the middle of your grandparents musty basement.nnOpened the door to our suite, and our shoes stuck to the floor with every step.nnBed was mediocre at best, bathroom floor was sticky, and littered with hair.nnOur view was amazing. It displayed.. a dirty glass wall, overlooking a disappointing dining area. The dining experience was $102 and the only thing edible was chicken strips. The bar was a joke, we ordered something sweet and ended up with some ginger beer, grapefruit and orange concoction. The bar drink mat would have probably tasted better.nnThe area is improving with all the small businesses local to the hotel, but this place is antiquated and needs replaced in the worst way.
