I was able to visit this amazing restaurant tonight with my bf and his parents - I was not able to make a reso but they do take them! The food was more than delicious! We got the fiesta nachos and fiesta fries to start then continued with 2 orders of enchiladas, 1 of classic tacos all proteins and 1 order of fish tacos. We were all super happy with our meals the portions were very generous and very flavourful! The owner or head chef or both also came out at the end of the night to make sure everything was tasting right. We love Mexican food and this was definitely a place I’d revisit, and recommend! The only thing I will say is our server wasn’t super attentive but as we were all in and out of conversations I personally didn’t mind : Kid-friendliness: There’s a mini kids menu but I do think it caters more to adults - they also have alcoholic free beverages which were amazing! Parking: Plaza parking
Very nice and intimate restaurant with great food, drinks and service. The decor and music really makes you feel like you’re in Mexico and the food and drinks were absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back!
3 stars because of the portion size and prices. Taste was ok. Some items were better than other. Guac was ok but the cost was $12!! Plus a handful chips. Steak in the tacos and Fajitas was very tough. Flavor was ok. Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce was pretty good. Colchicine tortilla soup was very watery and didn’t have enough flavor for my liking. For some it may be ok. Like always. Try it for your self and if you agree with my review then follow me!
WOW! YOU'GOTTA EAT HERE. [UPDATE: SEP27 - Incredible food experience yet again. We're in the area for my wife's pregnancy checkup so we ended up eating here. Had the veggie Chimichanga my go to from now on, OMG! Hit the spot. Crust was prefection and not at all greasy. Portion was huge. I can confirm prior negative reviews were false, give them a chance and judge for yourself] Don't believe the negative reviews, give them a try, you will not regret it. It was our first time eating here. I was skeptical eating here after reading some of the mixed reviews but could not make sense of the high rating, nonetheless I was going to judge for myself and write an honest review. I ordered the fish tacos and the wife had chicken enchiladas we paid about $55 with tip, no drinks. I'm 6ft 200 pounds, I was full after eating just two of the 4 fish tacos, it was filling. Portion size is great and I was famished. The food is authentic Mexican 1000000% and we could really taste everything. Fresh ingredients with a lot of flavor. The fish they use is bass which isn't fancy but for $21 it was tasty. We love it spicy and they catered to our wants. They use the California Reeper for the very spicy option, careful ordering this, it will knock you out if you can't handle the heat. If you love spicy, very spicy is the only way to go...yum! The beans were special and creamy but the dark brown color may not be pleasing to the eye for most but your taste buds will thank you. The chicken enchiladas were juicy with chicken that fell apart in your mouth, not at all chewy. We ate here on a Wednesday around 5pm, perhaps the quality slips when they are busy, which could speak to some of the negative reviews. Our favorite Mexican restaurant is Made in Mexico in Newmarket but this restaurant tasted more authentic. Customer service was excellent, service was prompt, and the food did not take more than 10 min to arrive. The owner came out and asked how the food was, you could tell he cared, it's a family run business. The only negative was the tomato salad dip with the fresh nachos they give you for free as an appetizer, it was a bit mushy and the tomatoes could have been more fresh. Will be back. Eat here and judge for yourself. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available. Kid-friendliness: Bright environment and plenty room between tables. Parking: Ample free parking in plaza. Wheelchair accessibility: Seating can easily accommodate wheelchair.
We got the carne asado tacos and fish tacos. Unfortunately both were not very flavourful. The coleslaw in the fish tacos were undressed and tasted straight out of the bag you'd get a grocery store. The fish pieces were alright but was expecting more taste to carry the rest of the dish. The beef was also very tough and lacked any deep seasoning. The refried beans though was tasty! We also got the chorizo chimichanga which was filling but also pretty dry and weirdly bland for being chorizo. We also did get a ground beef quesadilla which was a simple dish with beef and a thick layer of melted cheese. Overall, it was a decent meal and we were satisfied! We may be back to try more dishes but think the dishes wouldn't compare in flavour and prices! to places in Toronto.
I went here when it opened. My family found the food fairly bland and the cost was high compared to the quantity and quality server. I'm surprised to see all the positive reviews online so I will be heading back to see if things have improved since I've been there.
The service, atmosphere and food was excellent. They were very accommodating to any dietary restrictions or substitutions. They were very busy for lunch, but the food came out quickly. Lots of drink alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, and they start you off with salsa and chips. We have added this place to our go-to for Mexican.Food: 5/5
Lovely Mexican food with decent prices and friendly service. I've eaten here numerous times, had many food entrees, and have never walked away disappointed. The chef will sometimes come out and ask you how you enjoyed your meal. I will definitely keep coming back.
I'm gonna be blunt and short. This is the best Mexican food I ever tried! Even better that the food I ate in Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos. Try it, you'll see. And the cherry on my Sunday or call it the jalapeño on my taco was the service and ambiance. Until my next trip to Ontario, I will miss you Dos Mariachis and I'll dream of your food. Lucky Aurorians!
Best chilaquiles in town!
