Dons Caribbean Jerk

I ordered breakfast. Callaloo and salt fish with festival and Mackerel run down with fry dumpling. It came with porridge. One peanut was good and one cornmeal tasted of flour. Everything tasted good. Just the festival and dumpling were a bit hard. I put them in the microwave for a few seconds then they were fine. I got a small for each but they didn’t fill the container all the way. Other than that the food tasted good.

Listen, this is the best tasting Caribbean food one could ever consume. This Jerk Chicken and Oxtail is like no other. I believe the food that is prepared here at Don’s is prepared with so much love for the people. It’s too sweet to beat! I love, love this food and really do not mind the drive to obtain it. Go and check it out when you’re in the area! Big up to all the chefs and the entire work crew!

I tried a few items here. The Rasta Pasta twice. Beef Soup Bbq Chicken Ackee and salt fish with ground provisions The restaurant is immaculate, and the person at the counter is very pleasant. When I purchased food on various days the food wasn’t consistent. The rice had a good flavour but it was over cooked. Also purchased the Rasta Pasta with shrimp twice, first time it was good second time the pasta was very mushy. I also tried the beef soup which was delicious, the flavour was just right, and I wished I ordered a large. I wasn’t fan of the bbq chicken, to me the chicken was too soft, like it was pre boiled. The ackee breakfast was good, seasoned well.

Don’s has no words that can describe the goodness it has to offer. Brought some colleagues here for lunch and they were all beyond impressed. The jerk chicken was to absolutely die for, definitely some of the best in the city. Team really enjoyed their meals as well. The rice and peas were fresh and savoury. The Jamaican patties are piping hot and always ready. The seating area is quite comfortable and welcoming, easily allowing to enjoy the great food the place has to offer. The staff are always friendly and open to suggesting if you’re stuck unable to decide. They have halal offerings too for those in need.

Amazing food. I work nearby and I grab the jerk chicken special at least 3 times a week if not more! The chicken is consistently fresh and the oxtail gravy is to die for. I was in Jamaica last month and nothing I ate there compares to flavour and spices Don's has to offer. Staff are always welcoming and ready to take your order with a smile. Hoping to see a location open up near my house too!

I got the lunch special for my walk in today and this joint didn’t offer that much bang for your buck. The coleslaw was wet and was kinda sour as well. The chicken pieces had little meat on them and the gravy on the rice could have been much better. There are better Caribbean places out there.

We live and work in the area, and so happy to see Don's restaurants coming in. We usually get our jamaican food from Jerk King or Tinels... but to get from Don is not much of a difference minus the long line. Customer service was way better than any of those other busy West Indian restaurant. Food, has been nothing but flavourful and delicious! We ordred the oxtails, that's soft and so rich with sauce and carrot stewed down..we got a very well cooked plantains and fresh Jamaican beef patty. Their coleslaw was fresh and juicy not like kfc or popeyes junks lol. They deserve 5 . Keep it up team!!!

Food is the best jerk I have tasted in the Emery Village area. They have good music and place is clean . Food is priced affordably and served hot and fresh every time. Definitely worth a visit.Food: 5/5

One start is the lowest option in this thread or else this restaurant would receive a zero. You firmly know why I’m giving you a zero. If you’re looking for people who will give your proper food. This is not the place. They play Chris music but do not endeavour anything of the sort with the character and tact. Please do not eat here if you want real Jamaican food. Jamaicans don’t do harm to their own.

The food is amazing, however... I had my experience around a time that some very rude employees were working. While I ate my coleslaw, I dug around in the container and I expected to scoop out another delicious bite of it, however I was appalled to find a rusting coin in my dish. I told one of the employees about this matter and they rhetorically responded with "What do you want me to do about it?" I am a high school student and don't enjoy confrontation, so I shocked and wasn't sure how to respond in this situation. I definitely won't be coming back to enjoy the student special with this kind treatment toward patrons.
