It might seem impossible to find a legitimate East Coast style donair anywhere west of the NB/QC border, but this is for real. The mixed beef and chicken is the surest way to get all the flavours in one trip. Salad is huge and delicious with lots of added protein!
It has been a while since I was last in Cochrane. The food was stellar. The only thing I found bizarre was how the lady taking our order rushed us when there was no one else in the restaurant. Other than that I found the beef donair we ordered was great value and was very delish. The style was quaint and a very nice touch how they had incorporated the support local vibe by having flowers from the flower shop next door on each table. I can see how much love the business puts into each detail. I think why I knocked off a star is they need a bit of work on customer service etiquette. Other than that I would still eat at this place anyway.
We recently had Donair on the Run cater a large staff holiday lunch and it was fantastic. They were awesome to work with, very friendly and accommodating, large portions and the staff loved the food! Everything was thoughtfully prepared and well organized, and most important- delicious! Thanks again to the Donair on the Run team! We’ll be back!
From the west coast where donairs are plenty, but I think this place was my favorite. I had the shawarma pizza on a pita, and was so flavourful. I could have used a bit more heat but that's preference. Even if you don't like donairs/shawarma I tasted my partner's poutine and it was very tasty. Not sure if they double fry their fries but extremely tasty. This will be added to our favorites for future visits to Cochrane.
Returned to Cochrane after being away for 5 years and have tried many a Donair across Alberta and always compared them to this joint...Donair on the Run was always won that contest! My return was just as good as the first time! Staff was courteous and efficient, covid precautions in place. The food was delicious and hot I will return often. ***Update*** I usually have a Donair and meat poutine on my weekly visits, today I tried the Shawarma and it was delicious. I haven't had a dish I didn't like yet!
Yesterday I tried the Elk Shawarma and was completely blown away. It was by far the best shawarma I’ve ever had anywhere. A great environment and friendly staff. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Thanks again!Recommended dishesShawarma, Greek Salad with Meat
I just finished eating a most delicious meal with plenty left over for another . The delivery driver was a very nice young man. I will be enjoying the food again. What a yummy brownie!
This is my most favourite restraunt in Cochrane. They have their own delivery service. Quick staff that are very friendly, often doing cute promotional things like free candy or stickers for their customers that I really appreciate.Very clean establishment. Beautiful decor and fresh flowers on all the tables. Good quality ingredients too, leftovers keep well in the fridge. Lots of food for the money too. I always order a Greek salad with chicken and it's so delicious; I love how I can change up the type of meat in my salad every so often too. I got it with elk meat the other day because they had gotten some in as a special item. Big fan of fact that they are open to getting special ingredients like that in every so often. Keeps it interesting
I’ve been ordering from here for years every since I moved here 9 years ago. Always enjoy the food here, good quality nice people. Today I ordered a regular salad with just iceberg lettuce. But, as you can see there are a lot of Romania lettuce mixed in there. Worst part is I’m allergic to Romania lettuce. I took a bit and had to call them to clarify if my order was wrong. Then after two phone calls we find out they don’t prepare the lettuce in store and they come in bulk from somewhere else and that’s how it came in. It’s not completely the restaurant’s fault but it will be nice for them to check what they are getting. For sure will eat from here again, but I will have to keep a close eye on what they are using and putting in my salad. Won’tbe nice if they accidentally put me in the hospital.
Best Donair I have ever had. Their sweet sauce is out of this world! Highly recommend - In addition to delicious food, the employees are very friendly and kind!
