The food was ok but nothing that wowed me. I ordered Enchiladas Supreme which has 4 enchiladas chicken, beef, cheese, been The been was not good at all, the cheese was ok, didn’t like the flavor of the beef but the chicken was really good. Also got desserts which was the best part, their desserts were really good and I liked the churros so much.
Mixed bag of good and not so good. The traditional margarita was OK but it's got nothing on El Azteco in Lansing. I had a beef enchilada and it basically had no flavor. However the side of refried beans were very good with a side if chips. The tamales were very tasty but I had a bite of a chicken taco and almost couldn't get it down. The chicken was super dry and chewy. Someone at our table got the veggie Chimichanga and he gave up on it after 3 or 4 bites. When our family goes out for dinner it's considered a splurge and something special. Dropping over $100 for below average Mexican food as our food splurge was very disturbing. I think the issue is their menu is way to big. 7 full pages of options. They need to scale it back and hone in on perfecting less offering IMOP. 2 only for the service Vegetarian options: They had quite a few veggie options
I stopped in here hoping they would have a vegetarian menu as I love Mexican food and had an hour gap in my schedule. I was delighted to find vegetarian options for all my favorites and they were stuffed with veggies! They were not busy at all, I had stopped in between lunch and dinner. The food came out fast and hot and was great! The chips were also really good, not oily or salty. My waitress declared herself newbie and did a great job. Vegetarian options: I had the chimichanga it was super yummy
Ordered carry out combo #22 burrito, taco,, rice and beans. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Food tastes great! packaged very well for carry out. Fresh and delicious! forgot to mention it comes with chips and salsa as well. adding on to this post with a photo on my recent dining-in experience. Amazing service, amazing food. if I could give more stars, I would! This place is the best
Decided to try Don Juan's for the first time and it was just ok. Not bad and not great. The chips and salsa were good. My tacos were just good nothing spectacular as far as flavor. However, I did not care for the beans. Other than that if you're craving some tacos this place could probably satisfy you.
This is my go-to when I have a craving for Mexican. They’ve always been consistent and the food has always been fresh. I’ve only gotten takeout so I haven’t had any dine-in experiences but staff has always been friendly. I see a lot of people complaining about lack of spice or flavor but I think it’s just right. You can always order extra sauce or salsa if you want extra spicy. An overall healthier and customizable Mexican food option.
Really good option, the variety of dishes is impressive, a lot of Mexican food you would hardly find here. Horchata is great, and the salsas are well seasoned. Personnel is nice and they've a fast service. Definitely a good option!Food: 4/5
Food was over price for what you got you had to pay for extra salsa and chips which no other Mexican restaurant does, the price for shots of any type of liquor we’re so vastly out of proportion with the price value of the liquor. the beef was extremely dry, and had no detectable seasoning, not to mention the the rubbery corn tortillas used to make the tacos. I guess that’s about what you can expect from a Mexican place thats in a strip mall.
Very disappointing lunch experience. Got in right away and was served quickly. One of our meals was a meager salad with shrimp but the shrimp was undercooked so we asked them to be cooked more. Instead they said they would just bring new shrimp and to our surprised charged us $5 extra. We asked for Queso for the chips and the small dish was $6.5! Margs were really overpriced at $9.5 for what you got. Would not go back. Surprisingly this place is related somehow and has the same menu as Los Amigos at Briarwood mall. The experience and food at Los Amigos is 10x better than this Don Juan location.
You’ll find an extensive menu that includes Mexican food for American tastes, as well as a few dishes that are more authentic at Don Juan Mexican Bar & Grill. Bar is well-stocked with tequilas and other spirits. Service is excellent and fast. Prices are just right for the generous portion size.
