Ordered a Root Beer didnt even get a full glass like the rest of the table had to ask why when i asked the server she said "Let me try to explain....... Ill go get you another can". And the Root Beer they advertise isnt the Root Beer they give you. Only thing that was good were the fries. Went to the bathroom and found this i was disgusted.
Chicken Wings were off the charts great! I had visited last Tuesday for 2 for 1 wings and was blown away by the size of their wings. Without being ridiculous they were X-Large and cooked spot on. They didn't have Cajun on their wing menu but were happy to whip them up just the way I like. Bartender and wait staff were friendly and efficient. I'm looking forward to coming back!
December 15, 2017 we decided to try the new Don Cherry's Sports Grill in Welland Ontario. I was looking forward to a great experience. When we arrived it had snowed but the walk was not shoveled and when we entered there were no mats on the tile floor that was slippery. They seated us at a high table that was dirty with food crumbs. The inside of the bar had not been changed from the old Italian restaurant that was there before, other then more TV's had been added to the walls. We ordered the fish and chips since it was on special. We were told that we would get double fish fillet . My wife ordered hers with no batter and no fries but a greek salad. Almost a half hour later our food arrived. We got two small pieces of fish each. They brought the wrong salad for my wife and her fish was raw. My fish was also under cooked and my fries were cold. The drinks we ordered came with bad brown slices of lemon. We were not happy with any part of this experience and would not recommend this Don Cherry's to anyone. It falls short compared to any of the other Don Cherry's I have been to. Left Hungry
DO NOT EAT HERE! One of my worst restaurant experiences ever. -The service was extremely slow and generally very bad, our server didn't seem to know what they were doing. -We waited 15 minutes to order drinks which took 20 minutes to come out. Then we ordered our food and waited another 45 for that to come out. -There are only 3 types of pizzas on the menu Canadian, Pepperoni, Veggie; no option for custom we ordered 1 of each, wings, and a smoked meat sandwich. -The pizzas weren't that great, I've honestly had frozen pizzas that were better. The veggie we got had extra toppings that weren't listed in the description...toppings we didn't like. -The smoked meat sandwich was tiny and was literally bread and meat, nothing else, not even mustard. -One positive thing, the wings were really good!
Stopped tonight for 2 for 1 Wings. Huge wings, very tasty done perfectly. Table service also quite good. However, the place is truly outdated and in bad need of renovations. Although it wasn't "poor" it did need some general house cleaning. Pricing good, value also good. BUT omg DO NOT go into the washrooms. Absolutely filthy and gross. Looks like they haven't been cleaned for years!. Make no mistake, the food and service were good. The house keeping deplorable. Made us wonder about the kitchen..???. Bottom line - many other better establishments than Don Cherry's. Really, Don, you need to step inside and get someone who cares about this sub-par restaurant. Better call BAR RESCUE fast!
Had the Bacon, Swiss& Mushroom Burger with fries burger wasn't bad only thing that was really good where my fries we waited almost and hour for our food. We spent 2.5 hours there. Service was slow and there wasn't many people there. Lest the say never going there again. Tuesday June 26, 2018
Expensive!! Sorry to say to a relatively new business in Welland, but on now the second visits on wing night and again told only dusted wings left- but we went in early and again the place was only, at best, only a 1/4 full. Beer was reasonable. The wings were ok. The fried pickles were sour. The bucket of bacon was all wrong and they admitted it was smaller and not cooked the way it should be but still charged for it. Service patchy at best. Will not return-ever! Can't see it lasting.
I went there last night with my family, the lady at the door was friendly and seated us. We didn't have to wait long for our server and she was nice and did a good job. Another male server asked if we had already been taken care of while we wait for our drinks so that was nice to. The issue I have tho is with the the BLONDE GIRL that works behind the counter with the till and coffee maker. The poor girl at the front door working asked the blond girl up behind our table what kind of fish they server with the fish and chips and when she answered her it was extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. She made a nasty face as she walked back down to her work station as well. It was what my family and I spoke about while waiting for our food. The blonde girl also returned the menus to the front door and u could feel the tension from our table. She gave our dinning experience a bad vibe. We go out to have a good time, not to feel bad engery around us. Not to sure we will ever be back.
We went to try them last night, got there around 6:30pm, we were seated right away, service was great, food was awesome.... definitely would recommend the chicken wings and fish and chips. We will be back.
Tonight the service was extremely slow and the kitchen was overwhelmed with only half the restaurant full. We waited over an hour and a half and only got appetizers and one refill on my drink. Service has been less than half par, and the kitchen could use a lesson in serving orders. Good food but not well organized restaurant.
