Come all lovers of Burgundian Wines!! Luxury brand, knowledgeable staff, and beautiful location. This is the newest lounge for the Domaine Serene team. DO NOT confuse it with the other bar hopping places that dot Downtown Bend. This is for serious wine lovers and collectors!
After reading some of the less-than-flattering reviews here, I decided to see for myself. The Domaine Serene Wine Lounge is a very nice establishment. Not overpriced at all for what you get. The food is very good, the wine selections are also quite good, even if they are from only one producer. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I had.a great time at the bar, good conversations, and I will be back.
Nice to have a Domaine Serene tasting room in Bend. Went for a tasting and some food and everything was exceptional. The space is quite nice as well. They do push membership a little hard but what tasting room doesn't.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: NoDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
Anytime you get to drink Domaine Serene Wine at winery prices AND eat great food AND have great venue?! You're in for a treat. Their wines are some the best in the world literally... Look it up. Their wine selection is limited to their wines, but offers a variety from both Oregon and Burgundy and will surely have something for anyone's taste. The oysters are wonderful for being so far from coast. I have had the Oxtail Pappardelle twice and don't even want to try anything else. And oh, the popcorn chicken? It's my son's favorite fried chicken... Anywhere! Anyway, I recommend this place but do make a reservation. It's hopping!
Let's start with how beautiful of a space the Domaine Serene Wine Lounge is, and their wines are pretty delicious as well. Then let's talk about their service. I brought my out-of-town relatives to Bend and we stopped in to enjoy a bottle of wine when they opened shortly after 3pm on a weekday. We did not have reservations, and my cousin's membership had recently went dormant, so we were not allowed to sit inside odd, as though all of these tables were reserved, yet no one was there, but we had a nice table in the sunshine outside, so that was fine. The real kicker was when my cousin showed interest in reinstating her membership, but they refused to take the member discount off of the bottle we were drinking. Our server told us that had we ordered GLASS pours, it would apply, but they would not allow a discount from a bottle purchase. What? They were willing to forego a new membership because they wouldn't discount the bottle price. I can't understand this. Then we were told "they are membership focused" - but I have to say that was the opposite of how they treated potential club customers. The whole attitude we experienced while there was such a turn-off. We left with such a bad taste about their big ego attitudes that we will not be back, nor suggest them to anyone. Especially in a struggling market and economy where there are too many other good options, and local businesses who are super appreciative of their clientele.
Always keen to try out a winery - as has been mentioned, this place is pricey! I’ve been to their PDX branch previously and the set up/ambience is pretty similar. The wine cost is maybe fair for some who don’t fall off their chair at paying $20-60+ a glass. I’ve spent some time in Europe so perhaps my comparisons aren’t entirely fair, but over there good wine doesn’t mean you have to re-mortgage your house to enjoy it The food options were pretty limited for any non meat guests just a cheese plate that was very underwhelming for $23, with just two actual cheeses on the plate and some limited and basic accoutrements. If you like fancy wine and fancy prices - you’ll love it here.
Sharing the experience tasting wines with a friend was so wonderful! The Sommelier was delightful and the wines were very nice paired with the food. The food presentation was wonderful as was the tour of the Bend location. This corner has a ton of history! I would recommend the tour for Bendites if you know the little tails of downtown! I love Domaine Serene wines and this was a full experience! Thank You1
OMG Domaine Serene is amazing! We were totally made to feel so special by Luke and Katja. The experience and the service was top notch. The meat and cheese plate were high quality and delicious. We are so glad the dessert was recommended. It was a gluten free chocolate mousse that was perfect. Everything was warm, friendly, inviting and just a wonderful evening, tasting delicious wines. We can’t wait to go back.
Sat at the bar and asked for any Sauvignon Blanc they reccomend… the man scoffed and laughed at the request because we are in Oregon? He said they would never serve that. Looking back, we should of politely left but we all ordered a glass, stressfully, on the menu without asking questions. The wine was great- very saddened by the service!!
Treated with sheer disrespect. Very apparent they have high turnover. Staff are disgruntled and inexperienced. Brie has a lot to learn and her "mentor" takes her power issues out on customers.
