About

Dogtopia provides the highest quality dog daycare and boarding in North America with a focus on loving attention and outstanding customer service.

Story

By the time you get home from your busy day, your dog is a ball of energy! They've spent all day waiting for you to come home. Meanwhile, you need to make dinner, help your kids with homework, and even fit in some time to relax after a long day.
Dog daycare is the answer! Drop your dog off at Dogtopia and let then spend the day socializing with other dogs, interacting with our professionally-trained team, exercising and burning off plenty of pent-up energy. At the end of the day, you'll pick up a happy (and tired) pooch.
We also offer dog boarding for overnight or extended stays, as well as doggie spa services.
Move much? A passed daycare and boarding evaluation is valid at every single Dogtopia location nationwide.

Wonderfully clean and well run. Super friendly staff. Noodle was so excited to go in she just ditched us and disappeared into the back - Lol. When we came the next day to pick her up, she was happy to see us but in no hurry to leave. I think she had a great time and I wouldnt hesitate to leave her in their capable hands again. Highly recommend!
Love taking my dog, Gordon, here. He's always super excited to go to daycare to play. When I pick him up, he doesn't have "kennel smell" and they play with him and the other dogs. I love being able to see him on the webcam, and the people are so incredibly nice. They know his name, and they know my vehicle when I drive up, they're already going to get Gordon. Love this place.
My dog is very excited to return every time. Whether just for the day or kennelling over multiple days. They even great him by name when he walks in the door. You can tell that they actually like dogs here. Really nice to have webcams available as well
Clean super friendly. Dogs run in excited and happy for day care. Prices good. Love the private rooms for grooming no crates for my dogs. Dogs came out happy and looked great.
The location is convenient, attractive and clean. The hours are good. It is more expensive than other daycares, likely due to franchise fees and a downtown location. I took my dog there a couple years ago, and didn't have any complaints, but didn't leave with the warm fuzzies like I wanted to bring her back so we went elsewhere. Recently, we got a new puppy and the location and the hours really worked for us so we thought we would give it another try. At first it seemed ok. But as he went more regularly, he started crying and trying to leave with me every time I dropped him off. I chalked it up to normal puppy behaviour. They began telling me every day when I picked him up how bad he was, and how difficult he was to deal with. For context, he's a small dog and a puppy, and we attend dog training twice per week. They also told me he would try to escape every time they opened the door. I left every day feeling terrible. The final straw was they told me he got his jaw stuck in a crate while having a panicked meltdown. He's a baby and we were working very hard on crate training. I asked specifically if they used positive methods to support crate training before we took him there, which they confirmed. Anyone who has trained a dog knows there is a difference between whining and a severe stress response. Basically, they just stuffed him in a crate, let him have a complete meltdown panic until his jaw got stuck in the wires. Then told me about it flippantly like it was his fault. Allowing a baby to have this kind of severe stress response to an event does not support training or the development of their wee little brains. I tested it out by taking him back to the other daycare we have attended with the less convenient hours and location. His behaviour was completely different. He is excited to be there and loves all the staff. I realized he was trying to escape Dogtopia every time they opened the door because he hated it there. And in more than 20 visits, not a single staff member made friends with him enough that he was excited to see them. They always told me how bad he was, yet every time I checked the cameras, he was either sleeping or milling about that joyless room doing nothing. There is very little enrichment. As others have said, it is more prison than daycare. We decided Dogtopia was not a good fit for us, and they obviously didn't like our dog, so it seemed better for everyone for us to go elsewhere. Despite spending over $1000 in passes plus grooming, they would not transfer our remaining passes to my co-worker who also uses their services. Would not recommend.
I wish I can bring my dogs here very often..all the staff are very nice, friendly and very accommodating. I can say my dogs are in good hand every time I took them there..Thank you Dogtopia for taking good care of Lexie…
We held our pup's 1st birthday party at Dogtopia Edmonton and it was really fun!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Super clean space without dog urine smell. Highly recommend Dogtopia for events!! :
I’ve been sending my dogs here for over 2 years but recently the standard of care has significantly declined and I am no longer confident that they will return home safe. I’m writing this to make others aware that members of Dogtopia’s current staff are not reliable or trustworthy when it comes to your pets’ health and safety. It makes me really sad to pull them from daycare, as my dogs have made a lot of happy memories here. I used to love sending them, and used to trust that they were in safe, loving hands. Recently, Dogtopia staff lied to me when I called to follow up after my dog came home sick. He was vomiting up chunks of red plastic from the play equipment immediately after arriving home, and the staff member I spoke to lied, telling me that 1 there was nothing red at daycare and, 2 the play equipment had just been replaced and was untouched. They expressed no concern for my dog. They also blamed me and suggested that he ingested plastic over 10 hours earlier in my home. After speaking to management, I later found out that the play equipment had not been replaced, and that the morning coach noticed him chewing and eating the red play equipment and failed to take note of it or stop it. The manager requested that I give daycare a second chance and promised to speak to the employee. Despite this, when we came to pick up our dogs, the employee in question was unprofessional and immature at pickup. They refused to acknowledge us and did not take the opportunity to apologize after the incident. Either they do not realize how serious lying about a potential obstruction is or they simply do not care. We got lucky- I hate to think what would have happened if he ate something larger or even something that might be toxic. It was clear that this employee had no interest in investigating what had happened, they gave us no information, and refused any accountability. Nearly all the original staff have left Alexis, Kellie, Kaitlyn, which leaves me with serious concerns about the workplace culture at Dogtopia. Kellie and Alexis, in particular, had over 20 years of experience working closely with animals and both had degrees in related fields. Dogtopia still includes profiles for Alexis, Kellie, and Kaitlyn on their website despite the fact that they haven’t worked there in months. Huge red flag that Dogtopia continues to use their profiles and work experience as an ‘asset’ to their facility and misrepresents the qualifications of their current staff to prospective pet parents. To their credit, Dogtopia did ultimately reimburse us for the unused days in our monthly pass when I made it clear why we were leaving. It is unacceptable to lie to clients, particularly about circumstances that may require emergency medical care. I hope they do better with the pet parents they have left.
I have never actually taken my dog here but I live down the street from this place and on numerous occasions I’ve heard people screaming and cursing at the dogs in outside area. Happen again just recently around 6:20 pm on July 29. It is very uncomfortable and concerning to hear the dogs being treated like this. Never would I take my pet here.
I miss what this Dogtopia used to be like, when staff would actually get to know you & your dog. Feel like since Sarah & Alexis left it has not been the same. When we first attended dogtopia i was AMAZED with how great the staff was, always trying to get to know you & your pup. Now it just feels like a transaction & all they care about is how many dogs they can get in the door. The dog to staff ratio is insane now. Half the time i check the webcams the dogs look stressed. And every other dogtopia I’ve been too, they have special events for the dogs. These guys don’t even do that anymore. This dogtopia is a little disappointing. I used to think edmonton dogtopia was THE BEST, in Canada.. not anymore. Do better.
