Sign on the windows say authentic Texas BBQ. As someone who grew up in Texas and lived the last 10+ years in Canada I didn't have very high hopes. Interior was nice and clean, a place I could take my kids. When walking in we were not greater and the menu board seems to be in a weird spot. I know it is a cramped place. So, memorize what you want or you will have to look at the small little paper menu. Prices where really up there $17.99 for a plate. One meat, a roll, and two sides. We got their "competition plate" and "poultry plate" $19.99 each. Their competition was brisket and burnt ends. Both were super dry and no flavor. There were spots that did have pepper on it but not much else for flavor. Where is the smoke!!? The poultry plate was better. The chicken and turkey were both moist and very flavourful. However I was very disappointed in the portion sizes to price ratio. You get more sides than meat. This is very disappointing. If i came to eat just the sides then that is all i would have ordered. A side is just that a side. It is disappointing to walk out still being hungry after spending nearly $50. Mac and cheese was over cooked noodles with a pasty cheese sauce, BBQ beans tasted weird and peppery, potato salad was ok, and the coleslaw was the best I have found up here. Overall very disappointing and will not be wasting my money here. I will just have to BBQ my food at home.
Super duber delicious. Stopped in for dinner and got the family pack, Super filling and yummy. Great staff
Stopped in to check it out. Ordered a Brisket Sandwhich. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Received a monster size of meat on these buns. Most of it was tender and juicy. All of it tasted great with their spicy BBQ sauce drizzled on. Coca-cola is served it. Which perfected my quick lunch. Looking forward to trying the rest of their offerings.
Strange experience. I was very surprised there was no pulled pork. Also, when ordering there wasn't much direction. I ordered a fountain pop with my meal and I grabbed a yellow cup but then was told no and to grab a paper one. I didn't know the difference, they should tell you which cup or hand you the right one. I also didn't know to grab plastic cutlery as I was dining in, expecting metal cutlery. Also, the Coleslaw was really sour and strange tasting. The corn was hot and yummy though! The tray was super slimy. I think the staff members gloves were greasy which got all over the tray so when I was carrying it, my hands got all greasy.
Have been to Dickeys all over states and this is almost as good. Portion sizes are definitely smaller, definitely expensive and not something I'll do often but the food was delicious. Worth a special treat for sure.
What a great place to bring your wife and family for a chance to enjoy some amazing BBQ brisket. We returned to the site a second time with both visits trying out the extensive menu. The food was top grade and the brisket was so tender and melted in your mouth with a choice of BBQ sauce of your choice. We will be back and in doing so, recommend to other readers of this review to try out the great food.
Food was cold, and over priced for what it was as far as I am concerned. For a bbq pit Id expect hot fresh meat. Not dried out mediocre brisket on a cold undercooked baked potatoe. Will not be eating here again.
1st time here-I tried the chicken & brisket. I quite enjoyed the brisket, good flavor & moist. The chicken was pretty good too. I didnt enjoy the mac n cheese very much overcooked-like its been sitting a while. 2 options of BBQ sauce. I felt the serving size looked small, but was so rich that it was perfect The only thing that weirded me out slightly is that they don't smoke in house From my mom whom inquired about it at the South location advised it is smoked elsewhere and then taken to each store... If you want a taste of BBQ, its a reasonably priced option than other places
First time there with my dad to pick up a picnic pack! Very yummy and good portions! Almost needed a little bit more food though for the 3 of us that’s including my mom for the price. Otherwise it was very delicious! Employees and staff were very kind and friendly and the food was made quick and hot! Easy parking and access to everything in and outside the place. Thanks for the customer service : Kid-friendliness: Staff was polite and helpful! Parking: Easy up close parking!
Ordered a 2 meat plate - brisket and burnt ends w/ corn and beans as my sides. Beans were subpar, tasted more salty than sweet. Corn tasted frozen and just loaded with butter. Brisket was very mushy, lacked any flavour. And lastly, the burnt ends. They aren’t even burnt ends. They cut the cubes to order right off of the brisket and served them. Burnt ends are to be cubed chunks from the point of the brisket and then placed back in the smoker to caramelize with butter, sauce and seasoning. Very disappointed, but honestly didn’t have high expectations going in. This is one key example why Supporting Local is always better. Lots of great BBQ houses in the Edmonton Area. Don’t waste your money here.
