YES. SO MUCH YES. Had to come back both times I've been in Ottawa this past year because the sandwiches just blew my mind. It's exactly what you expect a neighbourhood almost new-york style bodega corner place to be like. Organized products, Italian imports, and then the hot foods is where it's at - all in house made pastas, veal parm, ready made for pick-up sandwiches, made to order sandwiches - all so so so good. You'll want to get everything. To top it off, great service as always. Personal recco: #16 is the way to go. With extra mayo and extra mustard. Trust me.

Pretty much echoing what everyone else has been reviewing. Everything in that shop is to die for. From the sandwiches to the meatballs all the way down to the cannolis their food is amazing. The attention to detail, and the fact that the people working there were incredibly helpful, made this experience that much more enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food treat.

Best customer service I’ve ever experienced. They were so welcoming and helpful. They suggested things and took so much time to make sure we were accommodated. Best of all, they have absolutely delicious sandwiches and desserts.

One of the best sandwich and dessert places in the city. Sandwiches are made on fresh local bakery bread. Vegetarian options. When you see firemen and city workers lining up you know there is a reason. Bring Cash otherwise you will have to use their ATM with hefty fees. They have been at Beech Street forever.

Being new to Ottawa, I’m always looking for a place like this. Saw the story of it celebrating being open 50 years on CTV Ottawa last night and tried it today. I purchased 2 Italian meat style sandwiches, a side of ravioli and a small pasta salad. It was all delicious & very reasonably priced. I’d love that pasta salad recipe! Will definitely go back! Parking is extremely limited, so I parked a few short blocks away in a lot, and it was worth the parking fee.

Honest food, honest people, great value. The people behind the counter are friendly at this wonderful Ottawa institution. The food - comforting, delicious - Italian pasta and sandwiches that always hits the spot. Takeaways for picnic, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Go for the food and people - it's arguably the most down to earth and honest eatery in town. Best, two thumbs way up, 50 year anniversary and counting!

Come in and have a taste of Ottawa history - this well established Deli has been family owned and operated since its opening many many years ago. I went to school on Beech St. and used to eat here 3 to 4 times a day. I still to this day stop by for a sandwich/pasta, drink and canoli every given opportunity. They also serve some bottled and canned drinks which I cannot find anywhere else in the city and they are incredibly refreshing favorite part of the meal for me.

I came here on a recommendation from a friend and was blown away. Super fast service, and delicious deli sandwiches. The staff were all friendly and wonderful - already on my top list of local lunch places.

Phenomenal for many reasons. We came to get sandwiches but didn’t realize the store was cash only. Mario was helping us and gave my wife and I two sandwiches for free with no expectations of us coming back to pay. Amazing customer service that we were blown away by! The sandwiches were both awesome and the best we’ve had in Ottawa. He’s made lifelong customers of us!
