Heidi was great! Very professional and helpful! I highly recommend her as a provider. She deserves 5/5 stars. The rest of the review is for the office itself. As unfortunately, they are rather difficult to communicate with. For billing they wouldn't take my copay at the time of the appointment. Instead I was sent a bill months later requesting a check to be mailed to them for my copay. When I called to attempt to pay over the phone, first someone answered to say "we have a bad connection I can't hear you, call back". I immediately called back to find that they have a hold service that outsources the call to someone who told me they will let Deschutes Derm know I needed them to call me back. Now at this point, it has been over 2 hours without a call back. Also, when I made my initial appointment, no one took the time to add my phone number to my patient profile!? The day of my appointment, the provider I was going to see had called in sick it happens, I get it! However I obviously had no idea and showed up, driving there in the middle of a thunderstorm, and was told I "didn't have an appointment" and would need to wait an additional 3-4 weeks to see a provider. So I am giving two stars because I feel like the front end staff could use more support to answer phones, or more training to be thorough with their appointment/billing set up.
Dr. Carter has always shown great professionalism - is personable and caring. Have known her for four years. She helped me with a very difficult rash/hives condition that lasted for months and months. She's the best!
My son is 8yrs old and has had issues with eczema and other skin issues since he was a baby. I was taking him to his pediatrician for it but not getting any results. I decided to try Deschutes Dermatology and couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Dr. Baxter is amazing, she has helped him so much and makes him feel comfortable talking about his symptoms. I highly recommend them and want other parents to know they are great with kids not just adults.
I had a medical issue related to the Covid vaccine and was desperate to have it diagnosed and, hopefully, resolved. Three other dermatology offices turned me down stating their appointments were 6 months to one year out. Deschutes was busy as well, however, after listening to my pleas, they made room in their schedule. They treated me with respect and concern. After reporting the issue to the CDC and ordering a battery of tests verifying a possible diagnosis Deschutes was correct in their supposition, I can live in peace knowing the diagnosis and now have medication to control it. Thank you Deschutes Dermatology, specifically PA Heidi Holmes and Leslie Carter MD.
Made an appointment for a consultation as soon as I got there the front office lady was extremely rude. During my appointment the gal informed me that they were scheduling out almost a year for the procedure I wanted done. I drove an hour and a half for this consultation and it was a waste of my time had I been informed over the phone they were scheduling out so far I would’ve made an appointment elsewhere. I go to a couple of places in Bend and everyone has always been so nice, I will never be back to Deschutes Dermatology again.
Dr. Carter is the absolutely best doctoriof any kind that I know in Central Oregon. Standing around in my underwear while someone peers at every inch of my skin thru a literal magnifying lens is NOT my happy place. Dr. Carter's professionalism and easy approach makes it comfortable and I trust her completely to take care of my skin.
Best botox and fillers with Patty! She's very skilled and explains her strategy for getting exactly the results you're looking for. My look is subtle and she absolutely nailed it.
The procedure I got done here went as planned. My experience has been like a couple of the other ones, where you cannot get in touch with these people. I’ve left at least seven voicemails on different days over the last three months and still haven’t received a call back. They do good work over there, but I’m very hesitant to go back simply because they can’t even pick up their phones to answer follow up questions.
Terrible. If you like your face don’t let Dr. Carter touch it. Just don’t. More than my money back, I’d like my face back to where it was before I went to see her.
Deschutes Dermatology has provided top notch care for me for 20+ years. Lucky this old redhead had them keeping an eye on me, and snatching me away from basals and squamishishes.
