I eat a lot of breakfast. At least once a day, so I know what I enjoy. I’ve been to this Denny’s location twice now, and it’s been lovely. Obviously, I’m comparing it to other Denny’s, and not the more boutique breakfast places. The food was on par with what you’d come to expect from a Denny’s. Our waitress, Crystal, was excellent. She knew exactly when we needed more coffee, and was really nice. The coffee itself was actually much better than the other Denny’s locations I’ve been to in recent memory, which is what earned the five stars.
Did you know that on your actual Birthday you get a free meal at any Denny's??? And you don't have to purchase anything or bring anyone else with you. It is a straight up Grand Slam Breakfast for free. There is beauty in the simplicity of this deal. If you don't want the Grand Slam you can order anything else off the menu and the price of the Grand Slam Breakfast $12 gets deducted from the bill. The only proof you need is photo ID. No enrollment into a silly program or anything else. Can you think of a better way to start your morning on your Birthday??? Dylan was my server and he was just as quick and friendly as if I were paying full freight. In fact, he was actually excited for me. He has been working there for 6 years and is a real asset to their team. A real at home feel to celebrate your birthday
What a classic! Gotta say, Denny’s doesn’t disappoint when all you want is a round of French Toast and a side of pancakes just because you can - especially when you’re on vacation! Lovely servers who were attentive and helpful and great, tasty food. Just an all-around great diner in Okotoks, which really hit the spot in our last day of vacation in Calgary!
Server was amazing very friendly and professional! Fast prompt service and the food came out fast and was delicious.
We were 1 of 2 tables in the diner- Food quality was poor gravy had long chunky slug looking bits in it- brought up to server when we finally flagged her down to get her to do a quality check on our meal and get a refill on drinks and she shrugged it off with a “ya” like that’s their level of quality …..Lots of staff standing around no one check on us or offered refills to clearly empty cups. As someone who works in the industry I could tell tomatoes had been previously frozen as they were slimy, bacon was an awful texture - mine was soggy but burnt and awful taste -hubbys bacon was just rock hard shards and pieces no actually in tact pieces between either of our plates that looked like it had been on the grill since 8 am. My order was put in wrong so I had to wait while my hubby and son ate their meals for them to “remake” mine. Unfortunately both the service and food qualitative were poor during this visit. If I could I’d give it 0 stars.
What an amazing experience I had at this location. Crystal was phenomenal. Her friendly spirit just made my experience here even better. Super welcoming and helpful during our stop in. The food was exceptional and probably the best Benny breakfast with the crispiest bacon ! I look forward to stopping in again even just to say hello. We just didn’t experience lunch but felt like home. Way to go Okotoks!
I would like to take a moment and thank Nicole, our server, for her excellent attentiveness and skill. She waltzed the busy dinning room floor effortlessly assisting all the customers with perfection and care. The food was consistent with our expectations of Dennys and enjoyable. The other staff also worked well with each other making this very busy restaurant a treat to dine at. Great job!
This is a favourite for me and my wife. The recent reno put a pause on our visits, but was well worth it. The new interior is simple, warm and welcoming. It is a really nice update. Also Crystal is an amazing server, see always has your back when it comes to making sure you never run out of cream cheese icing.
Our waitress Jennifer was incredible. She was so sweet and accommodating. She made the Denny’s experience as a whole the best time i’ve ever gone to be fully honest. If I came back I’d hope to have Jennifer as a waitress again.
Sunday for lunch was very busy. We did get sat at a table quite quickly, but it took a while for service. We ordered food which took about 40 minutes to get. Not sure what happened, but the food was hot and tasted good. Parking was non-existent. We had to park around the back on the road. Probably would not come here again on the weekend.
