I’m 50 now & went to the school as a teen. Long story short there was NOOOOO support for students who had learning disabilities!!!!. I was one of them & i feel truly heartbroken for any student there now that absolutely deserves special attention & isn’t receiving it. I was picked on & bullied by students just because I had a hard time learning!!!!!. It affects you for the rest of your life. I ended up turning to weed for several reasons in my life & one was to numb the painful memories of how I was treated in school . I have now worked hard & am continuing to work on my pain & have been in 12 step recovery for 9 years & 7 months.
I can count the number of good teachers on one hand but those teachers are REALLY good at their job . The food is too expensive and a lot of the students are high half the time, and most of them are really mean.
Heh, I went there. Great school with good teachers. I learned a lot.

Both of my children attended this school, one presently still is there. I have been deeply impressed with the quality of education they have experienced. There are many educators in this school that care and pay close attention to their students learning as well as their all round development.nnOn every occasion when ny wife and I have had concerns, we have been thoughtfully heard and the issues addressed.nnYesterday I attended the yearly prize giving which was superbly organized, with many students being recognized for their achievements.nnFrom my daughter’s comments and what I observed yesterday, it was great to witness a school principal who makes a genuine effort to be on the corridor connecting with his students and staff members.nnHaving had a successful career in educational leadership and management, I understand something of the levels of dedication it takes to provide your community with sound education.nnSure no educational institution can claim perfection. However, a great deal of what I have witnessed over the last 6 years at DSS is gold standard stuff.
