Del Rey Cafe

Food is good. We were very disappointed with the service and the time it took to get our food today. The waitress who took our order disappeared, and never told us she was going home, or wherever she went. Our server who brought our food, which took close to 45 minutes, was very disconnected. The dirty tables never got bussed, and they were not busy. My mother had to ask for coffee, I never got more water. We have no idea why it took so long, and never got an explanation or apology. She must have walked by our table 3 times, and didn't even glance at our table. I had to get up and ask for a to-go container, and the check. I don't know if she even understands why she got a 15¢ tip. She was very friendly with other guests whom she is familiar with. She dropped the ball with us. We will be back, the food is usually pretty good, and usually the service is very good. Today, not so much. FYI, they have tater tots, but they are not on the menu.

Del ray cafe is a non pretentious place to get a great breakfast, hearty lunch and friendly service. I have lunch there frequently and have never been disappointed or surprised. The coffee is good and frequently refilled. The people watching is great. The counter is my favorite spot to get a quick meal and chat with the staff. Prices are reasonable.

Huge portions, delicious food, and very good and friendly service.

They have good tu a melt sandwiches. Unfortunately no desserts.
