Deerhurst Resort

Had the nicest stay here for two nights. The rooms are beautiful and having the balcony is a nice added touch. Not sure why some comments say this place is dated because everything looked newly done to me. I loved how many gluten free options there were at all the restaurants , even the buffet you can ask the cooks for gluten free bread and they toasted it in its own toaster. I’ve never seen a place be so accommodating to gluten free guests. I highly recommend this place ! We will definitely be back

We had our wedding at this resort in October, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue itself was beautiful and very accommodating to all our needs. From the ceremony to the reception, everything flowed smoothly, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was special. A special shoutout to Haley Mumby, our wedding coordinator, who was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She made sure every detail was taken care of, which allowed us to enjoy the day without any worries. Our guests had an amazing time, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommend this venue for any event!

Over rated and overpriced! 3 star hotel at best! Just stayed there for 2 nights this past weekend. Room service never came by. Rooms need upgrading. Two TVs in our room, but neither one was a smart TV... really!?!? Want to watch a movie? It will cost you nearly $30 with tax. Despite a beautiful fall with fantastic weather, all outdoor activities were already closed for the season. VERY disappointing! One small 10-12 person hottub for 400 rooms? Our buffet breakfast had a decent selection of items, but the food was luke warm at best. 2 nights cost the 2 of us almost $1000 with taxes, including breakfast one morning. We will not be staying there again.

This resort is beautiful. It is definitely a nice place to visit in the fall.. the views & fall colours are breathtaking. I highly recommend getting a lake view this time of year if you can!nnMy boyfriend and I stayed at the lakeside lodge, lake view and got the romance package delivery of chocolate covered strawberries & champagne. The room was modern, very clean and we took FULL advantage of the balcony. We did not want to leave. I can’t speak to the other sections of the resort but the others seem fairly dated in comparison to the lakeside lodge.nnI think our experience was also made better because it was not busy. It was peaceful.nnOn the negative side, food options are limited here. We didn’t make reservations so that’s on us but we just took a walk around and nothing really looked appealing. The compass was extremely overpriced for what it seemed to be. We ended up going off the resort to downtown Huntsville which we didn’t mind.nnThe resort was also pretty boring in terms of nightlife we just wanted a peaceful getaway anyway so it’s ok but I think they can improve entertainment and have a nice, more upscale adults only bar for couples. I think the resort is more tailored to families but it has sooo much more potential to be romantic…. It still was :nnMy only other complaint would be breakfast. It was included in our package but the wait time was pretty long and the variety was mediocre at best. Considering how beautiful the resort is I think they can offer a better breakfast buffet.nnEverything else was great and we will likely be visiting again!

I visited this resort last year and stayed at a room across the lake. The room, for the amount that was charged was mediocre - more like a university dorm honestly than a hotel. The layout is not very impressive. Either way that turned out to be the least of our concerns - the worst part was the service at the front desk. They seemed more interested in talking to each other and their phones then actually serving us. They sounded like they were doing us a hugee favor and going out of their way just giving us directions to our room. I really hope someone from the management reads this and really works on the customer service their staff provides because it is pathetic. I will never ever be coming back again but honestly the place you guys have has potential to be one of the most unique - if you do not make people feel welcome in the resort they paid big bucks for, then that's just shameful on you guys to say the least. The breakfast place was okay but again I keep coming back to customer service. The staff saw me coming and kept going about their business. It took me a while to figure out that it was buffet and items on the breakfast can actually be prepared upon request, I had to literally catch people and ask them if they can feed me , I will pay them for it. I drove all the way from Mississauga to receive this lackluster service.
