Finally got to check out DD Mau and it did not dissapoint! We went on a Saturday and the music was very R&B - I imagine people pregame here prior to going to fortune because they have lots of fun drinks and good food. What we ordered: Chicken & Spring Roll Vermicelli Bowl Vegan Curry Mango Soju Slushy Star Anise Old Fashion I came here for their vegan options and the curry was pretty good but could’ve benefited from more sauce. I was surprised by how fresh the baguette was and woukd recommend that over rice. Although I didn’t try the chicken vermicelli bowl, my partner said it was really good and no complaints. The food was well priced for what you got and it’s vegan friendly as previously mentioned! However, the drinks are a big selling point. The mango soju slushy was dangerously good, while the old fashion was very smooth. I’m a whisky lover, so I preferred the old fashion. Overall, prices and vibe here was great. It wasn’t a calm vibe, but it felt fun and casual. I can see why it was busy throughout the time we were there and I’d definitely come back!
Cảm ơn.. this was PHO-nomenal! As a vegan, there are really few limited Vietnamese joints that serve up a real tasty bowl of vegan pho, this place is the joint above the curb for sure! A pleasant lunch experience via UberEats and a meal to fulfill a kings appetite. Plenty of tofu, heaps of noodles with a good balance of fresh veggies. The shitake mushroom broth was dope, full of warm zesty flavor with no bitter or salty aftertaste. I normally never opt for soup dishes on takeout, but it was really well prepared and organized with minimal and efficient packaging. My only request would be for the ability to add some chillis for spicy as I had to add my own. The Avocado Salad Rolls for me were the show stealer. Fresh, super stuffed with a perfect hint of crunch. Support local businesses!
Really really really tasty food. So nice to have a bit of a modern twist on such yummy classics. Papaya salad was hugeeeee and so tasty. The carpaccio was a stand out. Staff was kind and attentive, and asked genuine questions about our experience. The room doesn’t get much light which made it nice and cold to enjoy the meal on a very hot day. Love this place and so happy it made it through the floods and pandemic and all that bad luck bravo
Great secret find in Chinatown. All the food had great presentation and the salad rolls were exceptionally delicious with great texture! I would recommend to anyone looking for top tier Vietnamese food.
Very very delicious food and generous portions. We got the chicken wings, which were so crispy and flavourful and crab pockets were good as well. Dang good chicken was SO DANG GOOD. It came with sticky? rice and chicken broth that complemented the chicken.Recommended dishesFried Chicken Wings
Came back to this place after the renovation they had to deal with a burst pipe damage so they were closed for a while. Open and spacious, decor simple with a charm. A popular spot homely for Vietnamese cuisine. We had the Tamarind Soup Combo for 2 and DD Mau Chicken wings. For drinks, DD Mau Vietnamese Coffee hot option and Home-made Lychee Soda. Food flavourful and tasty. The Tamarind Soup Combo was a recommendation by the server and it was delicious. The hot and sour soup was well balanced and tasty and had a good helping of prawns and fish. The pork belly burst with flavour and tender. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy and yummy. Loved the Lychee Soda and thoroughly enjoyed the Vietnamese Coffee. We will definitely be back again and would highly recommend that if you in the area to give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
A Vietnamese restaurant that has a very good vibe, good renovation, and choice of music. In chinatown, with this kind of set up and vibe, it usually means expensive foods, however, the price is really reasonable. at least to me, I am surprised. For the food quality, I order a regular beef pho, everything meets the expectation excepts the pho noodle itself. it is very mushy. But the beef/ broth/ meatball are totally fine, and with this price tag, I would say it is acceptable and i would take it. also, my 2 other friends order different foods, they are both positive on thier order, so overall I would say it is a postive experience in this restaurant. But for me in this specific experience, i enjoy the vibe and the ambience mood over the food. matter of fact, if the pho noodle wasnt mushy, this would be a 5 stars.
Great little gem in Chinatown Vietnamese Fusion food. Fresh and well-presented. "Damn Good Chicken" is yummy and salad rolls and wings good. Friendly prompt service and cozy comfortable restaurant. Would highly recommend for reasonable priced delicious food.
Literally love EVERYTHING HERE - NO JOKE. Drinks are 10/10. Super strong and super delicious. I've been here 3 times, so here's a summary of everything I've ordered overall: DD Mau Wings $14: super flavourful deep fried chicken wings. House fish sauce glaze is sooo delicious. Viet Carpaccio $16: thin sliced beef, yummy vinaigrette. I'd recommend adding the sesame rice cracker for +$3 extra - great texture and adds some substance to the beef which is amazing. super crispy too. Flavour explosion overall. **Grilled Pork Collar $15: omg if you only want to order one food item, this is it!! So smoky?! I don't even know how it gets that flavour...just amazing. Nice and fatty pieces of meat, great to share too. DRINKS: Happy hour 3-5:30pm everyday and 9pm-closing on Fri/Sat get $1 off their street food during HH! **Tra Da 2oz $15 - Jasmine tea infused gin + lemon juice. 10/10 recommend, I've gotten this soo many times. So unique, and the jasmine tea flavour is AMAZING. JUST GET IT. The Bar Code $25: Hennessy VSOP, oolong tea, lemon/orange bitters. My friend ordered this, it's quite strong and was apparently pretty decent. Bar Snax 2.5 oz shots: rum, PEANUT BUTTER, condensed milk. Super unique, just wow. Too easy to drink if you know what I mean. 2/$10 or 4/$18 you have to order all the same shots though, no mixing & matching
Okay, ambiance is super chill and casual but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. DD Mau wings, viet carpaccio, and the fried sticky rice were all Service was great to accommodate our large group. The AWESOME music was a vibe on a Saturday night. Thank you!
