Hands down THE BEST Indian restaurant west of highway 15 in Montreal. It is a small operation, but don't let that fool you. It is mostly a take-out shop although there are 2-3 tables in there if you want to eat on the spot. One of the top 3 Indian kitchens in Montreal.Food: 5/5
I got the special chicken biryani. Very very dry and bland. I'm literally throwing it away with this much still left in it. My friend got the lamb curry which was pretty good still. I'd just avoid this dish.
Yesterday I visited Dawat restaurant for the first time and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is not very spacious but the food was delicious and authentic, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The flavors were well-balanced, and I have to say they serve the best Chhole Kulche in Montreal. The service was also top-notch. Ravinder was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She is a great host and made our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Indian dining experience.
They charged me 16$ for chicken briyani. I don’t think it worth the value for the quality and quantity. Where in others offering just 11$ for the same quality and quantity. Think about it what are you doing are you want to run the business or just one time shop where no one will come back for the same again.
Hey. Today I visited this restaurant with my friends . I experienced worsed experience. The service was terrible and the front girl who did billing , taking orders, was so rude... I liked malai Kofta, but the deal makhni was so bad it tasted like an old one. I like their tandoori roti. These are super soft and tasty . The one thing which we don't like is the washroom usage. As they placed a slip on it as a the coustomer who is paying will only use it. The ambience was also not good.. This was the first time we visit the Montreal as well as this restaurant. We never would like to recommend anyone to go their. Thankx.
The food is really good, the best Indian food I’ve found in the West Island. The samosas are delicious and crispy, the fish they use for the pakora is fresh. Their curries are good, as is their sabzi and palak paneer. Their lunch specials are also well priced for the amount of food you get, including naan, a salad, and potatoes with sauce. All in all, a good place to get Indian food in DDO.
I loved this place. We tried the Kulche and Chana combo and Chole bhature. They were amazing. Rabindar, the girl at the counter, was super nice. She was very kind and super friendly not only to us but all the people came for takeout. We will definitely come to this place again and again. Deserves a 5star for sure.
Dined in and Ordered combo, and it was inconvenient to eat from a plastic packaging plate. There wasn't much of a variety in the combo curry, salad, fried potatoes, naan & rice, the curry was salty. Not recommended! Additionally, had rasmalai, this def is a must if you have a sweet tooth!
I went to Dawat for my birthday because of the positive reviews. I agree that it's a hidden gem and I wasn't disappointed. The food was so delicious, I didn't think to take a picture until we were almost done. Whoops! I especially loved the bhel puri and the naan was freshly baked and perfect. I ordered the butter chicken combo with salad, potatoes, rice and naan. They even made the fried chicken without sauce for my 6 year old. It's a small place made mainly for takeout, but there are 3 tables with 4 chairs each and we were able to sit comfortably. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I will definitely be visiting again!
Chilli chicken is so sweet, you feel like eating ketchup is the best option. Chilli chicken is so bad, you will think twice before trying it. Chilli chicken is so red, you will doubt may be ‍ his hand. Trust me and think twice. Funny thing is when you ordering they will ask mild or medium. We ordered medium.
