Store is nice not to spacious but a nice size store and nicely laid out. You can also walk-in from inside Pacific Centre mall as it's right by one of the main entrances. You can buy loose leaf tea blends as well as tea in tea bags. Or can order a drink to be made from there shelf selection and take a drink to go. For the various 12 tea sampler options there happened to be a sale and they were mainly tucked away in the corner it coul perhaps have the discount or sale options perhaps put on a table as an alternative option so you could walk around just to make it easier so not crowding the corner were the sale/ deal items were being sold it gets quite crowded when trying to look over the options and sometimes had to wait for someone or make room for others to access the corner. Would come again sadly there aren't any other David's tea locations out towards Surrey so really miss the convenience of having a location closer to where I live but I do enjoy the teas at David's tea and would shop either there again or there online store. There Website does deliver the staff informed me that the delivery takes up to 2 weeks which is nice to know. If anything while in-store I inquired about the website checkout option when trying to use the website I had a gift card for David's tea but didn't see an option on the website to enter a gift card, it just had a promo code option which could be problematic if anyone wanted to use there gift card towards an online purchase thus needing to go into store, they staff refered me to a link on the website about there gift card as an option or to contact the website for assistance but I feel the option to enter a gift card on the website should be readily available upon checkout rather than contacting the website support for assistance. Either way going in-store to see and talk to the staff about the options or even smell the sample they have I feel is much more enjoyable and had a lovely time talking to the staff!
Enjoy the decent enough selection of teas. The staff is helpful at times. Depends who’s working. Also a good location to stock up on gifts this time of year or grab a quick refill of your favourite tea. They have most of the selection of my preferences Atleast Nice layout of the store as well. It’s small but well designed.
I was going in to shop, when I walked in all 3 employees didn't bother to notice I was there I was the only one in the store. I was looking at buying something, but apparently that was out of the question since the store no longer accepts cash which for people like me that use cash only to stick to a budget and I had budget a treat go get some tea, can no longer shop here. Which with this economy more people will be switching back to Cash, since stores can now charge the customers the 2% fee for using their credit cards. I had made the special trip into Vancouver to go to the David's tea store, but after that experience and past horrible experiences from ordering online, I will be looking for other local shops that are willing to work with how I need to shop ie cash vs big chain store that doesn't seem to be doing the best to work with their customers.
Had a buy 2 get one free deal going. Only sign promoting this was outside the store not in that mall entrance OR in store. Bought 2 teas and was not told about this deal by any employee. Saw the sign as I was leaving and asked for the deal. Was refused. May as well just order online, save the trip downtown. At least online you get the deals.
I went there for the first time ever. Nobody greeted me or bothered to ask me if I needed help with anything. I was gonna get a gift for someone and was hoping to get recommendations, obviously that didn’t happen. They didn’t have the boxes you can use to make your own bundle but they “could offer me a bag if I wanted”. I got a bag of tea as a gift for signing up which is delicious. Product is good, staff was awful.
Placed an online order dec14 for Xmas. No notice on the website that shipping before Xmas would be a problem. 8 days later it still hasn’t shipped. Ridiculously, they also will not let me cancel the order.! Talk about not putting the customer first . So before I even tried the tea, I will never order here again and I do not recommend anyone else does!
I have always loved going to David's Tea, and it was usually down to the service that made me come back. I had been away for a few years so when I finally came back, I was so excited that there was at least one store left in Vancouver. But the service for me was not it. Honestly, I felt I was bothering the girl when I went to pay. I thought it might have been an off day, so I did come back a few weeks later and there was more staff and again, the serivce was not good and they didn't even acknowledge that there were customers in the store.
This is the only physical David's left in town, and while that's a shame, it is very convenient to get to from Granville station. Staff are friendly and helpful, they have excellent stock of both regular and seasonal items, and they're happy to steep your to go tea in a steeper as opposed to a tea bag if you prefer.
Service is not professional and some products are not in stock. Staff is undertrained and is not knowledgeable. If you don’t like your job then get a new one or just quit. If you stay at this position at least show the right attitude. They could do better than this.
This is a great place to go for flavoured and herbal teas, or to try a new tea in an unintimidating environment. Their straight black, green, white, and pu'er teas are pricier than you'll find at chinese tea merchants and asian supermarkets in the city, but you can ask questions, smell, and get a small amount to try. The staff is knowledgeable and awesome, and the flavored blends are fun and tasty. Also a great source for fashionable travel mugs and accessories.
