I take my car here instead of the VW dealership for two reasons: 1. It's close enough to my house that I can walk home after dropping off my car. 2. The guys here are just really nice, honest, and don't talk down to me. Look, I'm a woman, I look young, and I don't really know much about cars. So I've had a lot of experiences with mechanics treating me like an idiot (including one who refused to believe my tire had a slow leak, resulting in me being stranded with a flat tire over Christmas, yaaaay). I never have that experience here. They explain what's wrong with my car in plain language, without making me feel like an idiot. They also charge very fair prices, sometimes too fair. They didn't even charge me for labor when replacing a minor part.

My car's timing belt went out and a mechanic I had used before told me the engine was shot and needed to be replaced. Not wanting to believe him I checked further into it and eventually called Dave's Auto Service. I dealt mostly with Vincent and I have to say the entire experience was smooth, simple, stress-free and they got me back on the road for about $800 dollars. Very honest, efficient, and affordable. I will definitely refer friends and relatives.
