We took a survey of our members in December 2012. Here is a summary. Here is one of the anonymous responses to the question "What is unique about Darchei Noam":
A serious committed and undogmatic approach to halachic Judaism
Our members are committed to lives that integrate Torah study and practice with the best of study, culture and careers in the secular world. We are committed to Halacha and Halachic process, and Rabbi Joseph Ozarowski of Chicago serves as our Posek (Halachic decisor). Rabbi Ozarowski also spends one weekend a month in our community.
Darchei Noam is a community of inspiring prayer and stimulating study. Our daily minyan meets all weekday mornings and evenings. We have a full complement of Tefillot on Shabbat, Rosh Hodesh and Holidays. Men, women and teenagers give Divrei Torah after Shabbat and Yom Tov services.
We provide regular classes for adults, and are committed to our youth. Children’s groups are offered on Shabbat morning and a youth class is taught during tefillot. As part of our education program, Darchei Noam has brought in Rabbis and scholars for Shabbatonim.
We are committed to the State of Israel whose welfare we pray for every week. Many of our children have continued their studies in Israel and developed strong ties to the State.
We are committed to the larger Jewish community. Many of our members play active roles in Jewish communal activities, including schools, social service agencies and the Jewish Federation. Our members played a major role in establishing a Community Eruv.
