Cynthia's Chinese Restaurant

Would've given one star but the delivery was relatively quick and cheap... ordered the beef lo mein. They scooped some plain noodles into a container with steamed veggies and beef and poured this weird gravy like sauce all over it. So much that it was pooling up on the sides. Nothing was mixed in and the noodles on the bottom were completely untouched by sauce or seasoning. Would've been better off going to Panda Express was like no lo mein I've ever seen and not in a good way

My favourite Chinese restaurant closed down on Lakeshore, Oakville, with a promise of reopening under a different namenSo I had to find a substitute, my friends suggested Cynthia’s in North Oakville for gourmet Chinese, looking online the prices seemed high, but if it’s good, then it’s worth it, so I booked a table for my family.nnCynthia’s is located in a strip mall in North Oakville, lots of parking and lots of bright lights, we were very impressed when we walked in for dinner, staff were dressed in cultural costumes… we were greeted and seated quickly, the hostess was very friendly and attentive, suggesting some of their specialties…. Really first class attentionnnWith the whole atmosphere, I was expecting excellent gourmet Chinese food, but that’s where this place falls apart, food was meh, tasteless reallynCan’t honestly say anything was excellentnnStarted with spring rolls, then Mongolian beef, general tao chicken, beef in black bean sauce, chicken fried rice….. all mehnDessert…. MehnnWhat was over the top was the service, always someone by us to serve, I know it’s luxury but honestly I can put my own food on my plate….. my kids didn’t want the same things I wanted on their platesnnThis was not the replacement Chinese I was hoping fornnPaying for service, but the foods not worth it

It's my dad's birthday today - he passed away in 2023. Chinese food was his absolute favourite cuisine. I never ordered from Cynthia's before - the Mu Shu Pork, Egg rolls, and hot and sour soup was FANTASTIC. These were his three usual things to order and enjoy the most... made me happy that I could have something so good on his birthday, thinking of him, and wishing he could enjoy with me. Thank you! Will order again soon.

Such a beautiful atmosphere and very authentic. Get ready to sing if its your birthday! Will be back!
