I purchased a couple of items at the auction 0n Feb. 23, 2023 and when I went to pay for them using a Debit card I was told that I would be charged a 3% fee for using a debit card. I explained to the lady that it was agaist the visa and master card policy to charge a feee for DC transaction and they only allow a resnoble fee for CC transactions. I was told that was their policy and that's it. I paid in cash and left. The auction house is basicly stealing money from people since there are no fees associated with debit card ttransaction and using the MC and Visa network to do it. I further explained to the manager when I called that can result in fines, and if the breach of contract continues or is serious enough the merchant risks losing the ability to accept those credit cards. The other restriction is because surcharging on debit card purchases is illegal under federal law.
Great family fun on Thursday nights ! You never know what you will find and always a great deal ! They also have food and ice cream available! Best to get there early so that you can park close enough to be able to run your treasures to your car and get back in before you miss something else. Dress for the weather ! If it's hot outside it will be hot in there with the occasional fan to cool off with and it does get crowded. Best to come around 530 to catch the 1st table being auctioned.
Have had many good times at the indoor and the outside auctions. Only downside I have experienced is the website. Cluttered photos and site jumping around when trying to view.
I have dealt with Curtis and crew for years...both buying and selling...he has the best consignments aound...highest recommendation
I would like to get a message out to everyone. This is for Republicans, Democrats, Independents and all of the other political groups in this nation. No matter how you identify politically, let it be known that if you support the current President of the United States, whether because affiliation or just because you're an American and you respect the elected President. ..... A. Curtis Andrew Auction does NOT WANT YOUR MONEY OR YOUR BUSINESS. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME THERE. It's either hate the President or shop somewhere else. How sad. Shame on you.
Great place! Great people. Honest hard-working family who work together very well, for the benefit of the buyer and the seller. You never know what you might find. There are some really cool surprises & often great prices. Easy parking and loading/ unloading. Big Sales in Spring & Labor Day get a little crazy
We took item's for last Thursdays auction, couldn't be more pleased with the service and excellent auctioneering results. Thanks Mikey and Clyde...
Very nice place very clean . items are laid out for inspection. I don't take my stuff anywhere else. It is best to call ahead and make sure they can take it that week... Once they were booked up. The next morningI think a fellow Mike called me back and said they had opening .In this day and time that's pretty nice..As with any auction sometimes it's hard to understand auctioneers. But I guess that comes with getting older?? the fact they make it simple for cash sales is also a plus..
I've taken items to be auctioned 2 times! The 2nd time I made 2 trips 2 car loads full of items some were true antiquesfrom Salisbury & got a check for 65...very disappointed, didn't even pay for the gas I burned to get it there! They have people that pay cash & they don't keep track of all money collected! I made them money & lost mine! They don't keep track of every item you take in there! They should label each piece & show it on your receipt & how much they got for it! They say they put it as box lots & basically stole the money! Very disorganized & shady! I will never take anything else to them to sell! They are all for the buyers nothing for the sellers!
Very well organized, and always eager to assist you in any way that they possibly can , and the food is good as well walking around and looking at all the stuff that is available makes one work up an appetite
