My son was born on June 6 so I took him to this museum because it's Exhibits are focused around world war 2 but primarily D-day and what happened. It it also has a complete historical barracks that was used during World War II that they converted a horse stable into. Then took it apart piece by piece and flew it back over here and reassemble it. So it's a really great museum. We had a really good time wasn't rushed but was there probably from opening to almost closing if you have a chance to go.
Really really interesting, if you're into history. There were guns, stables used in war reassembled in GA, a lot of WW2 memorabilia, among other intriguing things. Would be interesting for kids to see and learn from. I personally would definitely recommend!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Went with my veteran BF and we had a wonderful experience. So much history and knowledge in such a small place. They have big expansion plans and you can see how much work they have put into it already. Highly recommend going if you or anyone you love has served.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

Honoring the men who sacrificed so much for our freedom, the Curahee Military Museum is worth a visit. If you've watched the Band of Brothers series, you need to see this museum. You'll recognize faces and names from the series as you browse the displays in the museum. The museum has distinct sections that give history of the local area, including info about the Civil War, Cherokee, local industry, local celebrities and more. The last section is the Military Museum. There's lots to see and read, including a large wooden stable relocated from England. Some of the men who trained at Camp Toccoa spent time in this stable when they were waiting to be deployed during the war. We went on a Friday morning and were the only people in the museum the entire time. It must be more crowded on the weekends. The parking lot is large enough for a good sized crowd. If you are a WWII history buff, you'll want to make a visit.
We were so glad we did this stop along our road trip, it was so well done and definitely a must see. The kids enjoyed seeing all the artifacts and learning the history as well.
Small but very cool museum. Lots of memorabilia, photos, weapons and such. Definitely worth a visit if you're in NE GA.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
A nice small museum with exhibits on general Stephens County History and the Airborne units that trained in the Toccoa area during WW2. The centerpiece of the museum is an English barn that housed units that trained in Toccoa that was disassembled, transported to the museum and reassembled inside.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
You not only learn about the infamous E Co 506th but also the other companies that trained in the area along with Stephen County history. We must teach our kids what others have done for this great nation. A must see if in the area. The second pic is of Camp Toccoa a few miles away.Visited onWeekday
A outstanding museum pertaining to the Band of Brothers training areas at Currahee and Camp Toccoa. Actual reconstructed barracks from a horse stable used in Aldbourne England. History of individuals who served with the 101st Airborne Divisions 501st,PIR 506th, PIR 511th PIR and 517th PRCT Camp Toccoa . Collection of German artifacts. A must see for any WW2 veteran or 101st Airborne Division history.
