One Word - Excellent!!! We came here for a late night dinner and had a lovely experience. We ordered Saj Beef Sandwich & Byblos Power Bowl. The quantity was awesome, the place has a great ambience and service was just too good. The place has a pretty decent dining area and clean washrooms. Be warned we were in line for an hour and a half because this place just opened and it’s mad busy but the food was well worth the wait. Great chicken shawarma - the only thing is that they’re a little small, but still delicious. BUT THOSE POTATOES - amazing! Soft and crispy at the same time with a dollop of that garlic butter is definitely something to go back for!!
Reminiscent of our trip to Montreal, we were so pleasantly surprised to find it in the neighborhood. The garlic potatoes will give poutine a run for its money. Not sweet potatoes but sweet anyway. They cover it with garlic sauce which turns the potatoes into lip-smacking goodness. We also ordered chicken shawarma pita combo and it was really filling. This place is going on our top list for take out all we can do for now. Great food for a great price! Take a ....Train to Boustan
We had the healthy plate and it was really nice. Salad was amazing and meat flavorful! The service was great and courteous. We thought there were 2 salads included but we only got one. We did not like the coslaw. Lacked flavor and will not get it again. The garlic sauce and hummus tasted nice and balanced.
been a regular here for shawarma. simple ingredients yet so tasty !!! the garlic potatoes are simple but acquired taste. the garlic sauce is good, tahini tastes nice !! the chicken is well cooked. Their pita is very soft and tasty. limited seating! but ample parking !
The food here was very delicious and the portions were fairly large! I had ordered the beef plate and really enjoyed how well seasoned and cooked the meat was. They have a patio outside for the summer and although you can dine-in, the inside is a bit small and you may not be able to get seats. The only reason I rated it as a 4 is because the service was lacking. Because there were only two people working, I can understand being swamped by a lunch rush. However, they were non-communicative to me and my friends, which made it very concerning as we were left waiting for about 20 minutes to pay/receive our food. All the while, the two workers were doing their best, but promptly forgot about us.
A pleasant experience for a restaurant that is a chain. The price looks expensive, but portions are quite generous. The sauce in the saj bread wrap was creamy delicious. The meats I chose, chicken and beef, were hot and juicy. The one complaint I have is the rice in the shawarma was crunchy as it tasted like it was dried out. If the weather permits, the outdoor seating can be fun.
Amazing food, customer service and overall atmosphere. We ordered the Chicken shawarma platter and falafels with tahini sauce. The chicken was fresh and delicious, and the quality and quantity of the platter was great. The falafels were also made fresh to order. Definitely worth a return trip.
There are many middle-eastern restaurants in Scarborough but, it is great to see a good Montréal franchise coming to the GTA. We have already ordered take out several times and, the food definitely brings the flavors and the quality.
When your favourite Shawarma spot in Montreal comes to Toronto you need to go give it a try. I am comparing to the Montreal location which I rated a 5 and this Toronto store has potential but they aren’t there yet as they are still experiencing some new store growing pains which is understandable since they just recently opened here. Still slightly disorganized preparing and ordering food but hopefully those kinks work themselves out soon as they get more working experience. As for the food it is good but not great yet like the Montreal locations. They need to have a slightly better system in place to keep things fresh and moving. The flavour is there but they still have to tweak some things to be top notch. Something was a bit salty and the food was just warm not hot. Usually I’d give a place like this 3 stars but they are trying and have potential to improve so I’d like to provide a review to help them get better as a place like this needs to be busy to have the equation work so I’d like to see them succeed. Secrets to success like the Montreal location is the service has to be quick, the food has to be fresh and hot with a good portion size along with reasonable prices which is what made Boustan successful to begin with. I wish them luck as I’m sure with more practice things will improve
