Story

We are a full service CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE, & FLAT BOTTOM BOAT rental business located 100 yards west of Croton Dam in beautiful Newaygo County, Michigan. Our float trips depart from below Croton Dam and float to various destinations downstream on the Mighty Muskegon River. We also offer a car spotting service for individuals needing to get their vehicles further down river to assist them in their daily activities. Rustic camping at our FISH CAMP are available. We strive to offer the lowest rates in the area while also providing the BEST SERVICE! Our 35th year in operation.

I went by myself on a kayak. Owner who took me and picked me up was very courteous and helpful. Explained every detail of my 6 miles trip on the river before I started my journey down the stream. River was beautiful as it can get. I was lucky to see a goose floating and flying, an eagle standing on a tree and then took off system is not letting me upload video turtles, big orange color fishes. I was able to get in the water completely and refresh myself from the heat. $31 for a 2 1/2 hours kayak down river and back ride to my vehicle was very reasonable and affordable. It was worth it 100%. I would do it again and again and of course with my family and friends. Awesome!
Had an amazing time going down the river on one of their canoes! We called early in the morning to inquire about the rentals and the staff was super nice and gave us all the information we needed. They even picked us up from the opposite end of the river and took us back to our car. They gave us a time they would be there but also allowed us to extend that time if needed. Great experience!
Completely worth the extra drive up the hill... First things first! Amazing customer service. Answered all my questions with a smile. I ask a lot of questions . He had a great welcoming personality and explained everything thoroughly. Drove us to the drop off location and he was right there waiting to pick us up when we finished. We had such a great time and it was a great experience just listening to music, enjoying the sights and just being together. We saw turtles, fish, craines, an OTTER and a few other little things! You do not need to stop to get sunscreen, watershoes, or waterproof phone because they have it all in their little shop. Unfortunately, I didn't know this and spent $5 more stopping to buy sunscreen on the way I did end up buying the phone case from them and it was worth it and great price I think it was $15. It was cheaper then some of the others we have bought and it was way better. My phone was dry, took great pictures and I could even make a call through the case. Who knew... I was concerned about mosquitos because we always get eaten alive and NOT ONE BITE. Next time some of the girls want to try the kayaks. I'm okay with that I'll just tie the tube to the back relax and float behind. ~NOTE~ We did not stay but they have the cutest little cabin rentals. Definitely A+++ Experience.

Camping in the UP and headed down the state to find a spot to camp, we came across the Croton Dam from a recommendation at the local trading post. It was a lovely little campground, run by a family who went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. Mike and Rebecca were so kind and engaging, from allowing us in after hours to stopping by to wish us well when we left. We rented a boat from them to fish the river and enjoyed it immensely. HIGHLY recommend to experience the river!!!
A variety length of trips ranging from 2 and ip to 5 hours Croton Dam Float Trips offer kayaks, canoe paddling, inner tube float trips as well as along overnight lodging. Located on the Muskegon River world class trout fishing just below the Croton Dam. Mike and family are wonderful hosts. We visit once or twice every summer the 2.5 to 3 hour trips are a great way to start a week day on vacation.
Mike was fantastic!! Shuttled is from Muskegon to croton for our 4 night paddle down the river! He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the waterway.
The place and the staff are amazing, our last trip rained us out . But we stuck around being we got the cabin. We will be back again love this place and the owners .
The owner was awesome friendly and informative!! If I'm in the area again I will tube with these people again. Fun awesome trip
Went here with my mom and had a great time. It took us about four hours to get though the whole six miles. We went on the 4th and there were a good amount of people. We have gone here several times and sometimes never see a single person on the river. I tell so many people about this place and how they should go. I'm de coming back this summer or next.
