While I appreciate the charm of Cracker Barrel and understand the appeal, it's not my cup of tea. The store at the entrance is fun, if kitschy, and brings back memories of the "corner store" of childhood. The staff is pleasant.  Unfortunately, as much as some friends and family can't get enough... I don't like the food. I'm not a fussy eater, and I appreciate good comfort food, but as many times as I've been there, I haven't yet found a meal that I would return for. It's not bad food. But I don't care for smoked foods, and except for the baked apple, I find everything there either smoked or bland.

Excellent menu and the most delicious English food ever had. The variety of sides and entree dishes are amazing. The place is full? Need to wait?? The main entrance is the shop where you they sell handmade goods and goodies. Shop and kill time to get in and taste one of your tastiest meal!

Cracker Barrel East Windsor offers Connecticut southern style old country cooking.  Everything from Big Country Breakfasts, affordable lunches and belly busting dinners.  Grampa's Breakfast, with Chicken Fried Chicken, fried apples, grits and biscuits is one of my favorites. But the Sunday Double Chicken Breast dinner, with three sides is a close second. I always get the house salad, even with breakfast.  For those watching their waist, there are a number of healthy selections, including Atkins comparable options. When you are done dining, the Cracker Barrel Country Store is a great place to shop for unique gifts, while walking off a few pounds.

The great thing about Cracker Barrel is that they are family-friendly, consistent no matter where you go, and NOT fast food.

When we are traveling, we frequently plan our stops using a Cracker Barrel map.  We can always count on good food, good service, and affordable prices.  We don't have to worry about that "fast food" feeling deep in your stomach when we are on the highway in the middle of nowhere. 

Just this past week, my husband and I ate at the East Windsor Cracker Barrel.  The place was crowded but we didn't have to wait to be seated, to order, or to be served.  It was also a bone-chilling day and we were lucky enough to sit near the fireplace.  :)

We went for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it!

If you've never been to a Cracker Barrel, be sure to take a little extra time to peruse the gift shop!

Very disapointed. Service was slow. Ordered 3 meals. 2 put of 3 not correct. Ordered a burger with some pink. It came out well done. Pot roast with carrots and green beans served with wrong veg. I have been here a few years back and thought it was great. Not sure if it was just a bad day for staff or if they are no longer worth the stop in.
