Cowtown Beef Shack

I’ve eaten here before and was happy with the food. I have family in town and I wanted to share a good experience with them. However, now I’m embarrassed. My aunt felt that the young woman had a bad attitude. The staff was impatient with her when my aunt asked questions about the menu. Anyway, the food came out cold. We had to ask staff to warm up our sandwiches which is not fair, considering we paid over 100$ in food. The staff forgot soup, and the young woman said, “oh shit”. The two young men were pleasant and helpful. It’s 745 pm Friday, September 30. Thank you! Edit - we needed lids and staff were no where to be seen. We tried to call for them and my cousin walked into the kitchen area to get their attention to be told “don’t step back here”. We wouldn’t have to cross the boundary if the staff were upfront and available. They were in the back on their phones. I think staff need to be supervised with someone more responsible.

Not sure what's wrong with the people who gave this place bad reviews. Service was fast and great, the horseradish aioli was amazing. Bread was perfectly toasted and the meat was delicious and not dry at all. The dip is out of this world! No complaints, just a full belly for a good price.

Loved this place! A lot of comfort food to choose from. I had the Mac and cheese and it was delicious! The young adults working the counter had a lot going on and were doing their best on a busy night! I’d return for sure.

Amazing sandwiches with really juicy meat and Fresh perfectly toasted bread. Beef dip sauce was very tasty and went with it just right. The lady who served us was awesome and super friendly. Highly recommended if you like your roast beef!

I had a fantastic experience here, and the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend anyone who likes BBQ to visit. A friend and I split a large size Cowtown Cheese Steak, and even then we were both stuffed. The quantity of meat is incredibly generous. The meat itself was very tender and flavorful, and the horseradish sauce I added complimented it well. Finally, the staff here are super friendly and accommodating. They helped portion our single Mac n cheese order into two, which made splitting it much easier.

Have been here a number of times and haven't written a review yet.. so it's about time! We LOVE this place. The food is amazing and the service is great. The owner is a top notch gentleman and super friendly. The staff have always been pleasant and responsive. If my daughter had her way we'd be eating here all the time! Keep up the great work and thank you!

The boys running the shop Friday night were awesome. They remembered all the toppings I asked for, including the sauces on the side. They cut one sandwich in three for my kids to share, and put them all on their own plate. Then they asked if we would all like some water, got us cups and brought it all out to us. It was such a pleasant experience. Plus the playoffs were on the TV. The smoked beef sandwich was great, get the cranberry sauce. The ceaser salad was a tad too spicy/tangy but still good.

The food from Cowtown is amazing. The staff unfortunately ruins this place. I have received the wrong order, over 10 separate times in a year period. The beef dip is delicious, but it rarely arrives as ordered. No point in ordering online, you have to go in and watch them make the order correct. Last time I tried to do this in person, I was equally disappointed as the guy behind the counter was so incredibly high, he could barely speak. They are suspiciously willing to just offer you a free meal due to the messed up order, which would lead one to believe this happens daily. As much as I love this place, there is no point in spending money at a restaurant who cares nothing about quality and consistency. Great food, if you get what you order 1% of the time. STAY AWAY.

I was really looking forward to trying their sandwiches as they have great reviews. I ordered the beef dip, service was good, sandwich was packed with beef. They would’ve received 5/5 on just those 2 points. Here’s where I was disappointed, found the beef dry, sandwich definitely needed more sauce. I asked for extra jalapeño but it still felt like there were barley enough. I would definitely try this place again but will ask for a LOT more sauce.

Beef dip was dry. No sauce. I thought there was supposed to be aioli? Au jus was flavourless. I just don’t know I payed so much for dry flavourless sandwich? Did someone not do there job right? I really hope this is not what usually sell. Mac and cheese no flavour as well. I had to add tons of salt. First and last time for me waste of my money. I wish I never wasted my money on this place. Dietary restrictions: This place sucks
