Definitely would recommend. If you want a Good sandwich this is where you come. Great set of menu options, food is very fresh they make it, and cook it to order. Priced reasonably for what you are getting. Fresh pretzels are nice as well. The owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of their products. You should definitely give this place a try you will not be disappointed, it's like one of those little known places with great food you always see on the food Channel that the locals know about and come to. Edit: Food was great today, absolutely what I needed after getting my groceries done early today. Was all hungry from staring at food this really hit the spot. Thanks guys!
Decided to try this place out as it was just down the road from our hotel. Wow! The sandwiches are amazing and their pretzel bread is to die for. Great portions for the price and the kids loved the milkshakes. The cherry lime milkshake was the family favourite, but the others were top notch as well. Only complaint would be the time we had to wait for our order, but overall well worth it. Will definitely be coming back. Shown in the pictures are the California, Greek and Hawaiian. Hawaiian was the favourite amongst the fam.
We got the Steak frite and the Northern sandwich and oh wow are they delicious! The Northern sandwich, the egg was cooked perfectly and I could taste everything on that sandwich. The meat was delicious, the lettuce was fresh and the pretzel buns are SO good.
Edit: I had to lower my review because I returned the next day and got the soup and another sandwich, and the soup didn’t sit right. The following day I became incredibly nauseated throughout the day and woke up sick several times in the night. It gradually wore off the following day. The flu I had wasn’t in my stomach and this was all I ate that day so I’m quite sure I got mild food poisoning from the soup. I’m very happy with my first order from this place. I love a good sandwich, and I also was hoping for soup since I’ve been sick. I’m so glad I didn’t get a full sandwich though, because it was loaded! I found it very tasty, but the roast beef was a little tough for my liking, so I’ll try something different next time. The chicken soup is delicious, and I the “fresh water” drink that I got is perfect! Nice flavours and not too sweet. I will definitely order from here again.
Very tasty turkey sandwich with whatever you want on it. I will ask for less or no sauce next time as I don’t like too much. Sammer was great. Those house made chips are too good. As you can see in my photo they loaded me the eff up and I ate every piece. Open till 6:30 and close to my hotel so nice for a simple dinner.
What a surprise. Small shop, couple tables to dine in, staff is very nice, the sandwich is going to be one of the best I’ve had for years. Recommend it.
Update Jan 2024 - I love this place, wish I was closer but that makes it a real treat the once a month or so I eat here. I had the Steak Frite about 2 weeks ago and was craving the Cuban today, it's not on the menu but they were happy to make it for me today. Always amazing food here, definitely the best in Calgary no competition. Update Aug 30 2022 - Still amazing. I've eaten here twice this month and the sandwiches here never disappoint. My new Favourite is the Cubano with extra pickles but the steak frites is stilly original fav. I can't leave here without some of the amazing carrot cake either! Love it here. Original - This has become bar none my favorite sandwich shop in the city. This city lacks great sandwich shops, there are plenty of okay sandwich shops but only a few great ones in Calgary. I will put this up there with Spolumbo's and actually maybe even a little bit ahead of it! Steak Frite Twist is my go-to sandwich here and this sandwich is no joke, bring your appetite! They have plenty of house special combos and you can build your own sandwich as well but the Steak Frite is amazing. You can also get pretzels with different dips etc and milkshakes.
Great little hidden gem of Calgary. Sandwich was made to order and super fresh. I had the Californian sandwich in a demi size and it was stacked nicely. Added a cheese pretzel and cheese dipping sauce...no regrets there either. Can't wait to come back and try some more stuff. Great menu with tonnes to choose from.
Hands down the best lunch in Calgary! Great prices and service. Go here and be happy And their milkshakes WOW!! Thick in the besst kind of way. You gooo chocolate rasy!! Photos dont do this place justice. You have to eat here
Popped in for a lunch today and it was so yum! It’s literal pretzel heaven I had a pretzel dog and the potato crisps and it was all delicious!
